I like to start the new year with gluttony and a trip to The Manor in West Orange, NJ for the all-you-can-eat seafood buffet is in order. Our intrepid diners closed the place down.Here's what it looked like.

Approximately 125 members of the Honolulu District ohana came together for the annual holiday party at Haleiwa Joe’s in Kaneohe on Dec. 5. The lush Haiku Gardens and Koʻolau mountain range provided a spectacular backdrop for an afternoon filled with games, recognition, and camaraderie.
Honolulu District Commander, Lt. Col. Adrian Biggerstaff, kicked off the party with opening remarks and a sneaky surprise: anointing Budget Analyst, Matthew Yoshioka, with the “power of 59 minutes” after he sat in the lucky seat. The nonstop program, emceed by Stephanie Mora and Maj. Kevin Corizzi, included an icebreaker activity, an “unravel the streamer” challenge, a team “Human Holiday Tree" decorating contest, an ugly/festive sweater contest, and a white elephant gift exchange with a “left-right” twist added to the game.
The event featured a lunch buffet, and an ongoing raffle for door prizes and gift cards that created extra excitement to the gathering.
Between the games and giveaways were opportunities to strengthen relationships across the district by connecting with co-workers outside the office and taking some incredible group photos.
After lunch, Lt. Col. Biggerstaff took time to highlight the contributions of several individuals by presenting commander’s coins and/or providing special mentions. Those recognized include: Lorayne “Nani” Shimubuku, O&M Program Manager; Wendy Hammer, Budget Analyst; Amy Capwell, Realty Specialist; Holly Tanaka, Civil Engineer; Brysen Calkins, Cost Engineer; Jerald James, Workload Manager, and Kriztofer Laborete, Contract Specialist.
A huge mahalo to the Holiday Party Committee and all the volunteer elves who worked tirelessly since April to help put together a memorable event for all.
