in 42 degrees heat 3 buds find their way to survival

Mesa Community College Rose Garden, AZ. April 2019

Framed by branches of a maple tree as the full moon rose behind. Leaves have been slow to form due to relatively cold spring. Unfortunately snow is in the forecast for this Mother’s Day weekend.

Thank you so much, first for 25.000 views of my photo stream and then for liking this picture so much :-)

Thank you to all my Flickr friends and all other visitors, your views, comments, faves and invites have made this another entry in Explore, highest position #46 for May 22 2011 on 23/05/11 :-)

I had the opportunity of meeting another flickr contact yesterday,Amiee ! My son had an appointment to have braces put on, my husband had meetings all day and was not able to drive us into the city, I am not a city driver, I knew I could get to the city, but not around the city. So I contacted a flickr friend, who I have never met and asked her if she would be interested in meeting and maybe being our driver while we were in the city, I was so nervous asking such a favor, but not long after I sent her the message she replied and said sure...

It was such a blast, not only is she kind, but she is absolutely gorgeous, I was wishing I had brought my camera along, I would have loved to have had the opportunity to photograph her. She reminded me of the Abercrombie models, stunning!

Thank you so much Amy for meeting me and driving the boys and I around the city, and the boys thought you were great too! xo

Shot at Occoquan Regional Park. Glorious day today….the park was crowded.

As much as I'd love for my daughters to share the passion that I have for railways, I cherish the time we get to spend together. CN A442 southbound near New Sarepta on CN's Camrose Sub.

One day in June, I decided to load up a couple of old cameras with some 135 format, black and white, film. One was a Nikon FTn with a 35 mm lens that I gave to me daughters. They are seven and nine years old, and were interested in learning some photography. I loaded a Spotmatic 1 for myself. I planned to shoot the whole roll with a 300 mm lens, but some of the shots were taken with other lenses. Here is a photo of my 9 year old pretending to compose a photo while I take one of her.

Check out an album containing more of my photos shot in 2018.

Apricots on our apricot tree in our backyard. We wound up having quite a number of them last year and quite a few this year as well.

I really have no idea what plant this is; I only just noticed it on the street nature strip this morning in overcast conditions. I'll see what develops over the next few days.

Edit: The buds began to open a few days later. The plant is an Australian native - Scaly Phebalium.

My children eagerly participated in this hair color party experiment. This was challenging as most of the time they jumped and ran around -- this is at the end of the party where I finally had some time to focus on the little Billies. Green hair Billy hates taking pictures - can you tell ? :-D

My daughter's hot pink hair is peaking at right of the image.

I took the day off work today, just to see the Tidal Basin in full bloom. This shot is at 7:10 a.m. and there are many people celebrating the arrival of the blossoms. I posted 7 pictures from todays shoot!
