Sometimes when I take a picture, I am not exactly sure what sort of plant or bud I am shooting. But I know exactly what this is: It's a hairy red thing.
I was at the Singapore Botanic Garden for a photo shoot. While scouting for subjects I spotted this Bougainvillea.
Sambucus is a genus of flowering plants in the family Adoxaceae.
The various species are commonly called elder or elderberry/elderflower.
The flowers of Sambucus nigra are used to produce elderflower cordial.
St-Germain, an American liqueur with faux-French branding, is made from elderflowers.
Hallands Fläder, a Swedish akvavit, is flavoured with elderflowers.
Despite the similarity in name, the Italian liqueur sambuca is mostly made with star anise and fennel essential oils extracted by vapour distillation.
It also contains elderflower extracts with which it is flavoured to add a floral note, to smooth and round off the strong liquorice flavour.

I was intrigued by this clematis bud as it looks to me like some 3 eared critter. I’ve been self-isolating too long! 😜
I dedicate this picture to two of my special flickr friends Tom & Carol. They both wrote wonderful testimonials to me.
I chose this picture because I feel our friendship is like a beautiful budding flower.
Thank you so much Tom and Carol.
I invite everyone to enjoy their photostreams.
Another from the flickr meet-up yesterday. Of course, I had to make a few "paintings" while I was there. : ) I couldn't really get a crop I loved from this one, so I am sharing the general idea here.

Ends up in berries which medicinal siropes etc. are made!

Framed by branches of a maple tree as the full moon rose behind. Leaves have been slow to form due to relatively cold spring. Unfortunately snow is in the forecast for this Mother’s Day weekend.
Thank you so much, first for 25.000 views of my photo stream and then for liking this picture so much :-)
Thank you to all my Flickr friends and all other visitors, your views, comments, faves and invites have made this another entry in Explore, highest position #46 for May 22 2011 on 23/05/11 :-)
I had the opportunity of meeting another flickr contact yesterday,Amiee ! My son had an appointment to have braces put on, my husband had meetings all day and was not able to drive us into the city, I am not a city driver, I knew I could get to the city, but not around the city. So I contacted a flickr friend, who I have never met and asked her if she would be interested in meeting and maybe being our driver while we were in the city, I was so nervous asking such a favor, but not long after I sent her the message she replied and said sure...
It was such a blast, not only is she kind, but she is absolutely gorgeous, I was wishing I had brought my camera along, I would have loved to have had the opportunity to photograph her. She reminded me of the Abercrombie models, stunning!
Thank you so much Amy for meeting me and driving the boys and I around the city, and the boys thought you were great too! xo
