Finding more flowers in my flower garden. Evidently lupines are wildflowers in Maine, they grow all along the roadsides. Fun to have some of my own

This spike of what I think are Foxglove flowers were just about to burst from the bud. But there were some beautiful greens amongst the light and dark.

The various species are commonly called elder or elderberry/elderflower.
The flowers of Sambucus nigra are used to produce elderflower cordial.
St-Germain, an American liqueur with faux-French branding, is made from elderflowers.
Hallands Fläder, a Swedish akvavit, is flavoured with elderflowers.
Despite the similarity in name, the Italian liqueur sambuca is mostly made with star anise and fennel essential oils extracted by vapour distillation.
It also contains elderflower extracts with which it is flavoured to add a floral note, to smooth and round off the strong liquorice flavour.

Hydrangea getting ready to burst into flower. Taken a couple of months ago so they would be flowering by now.
Sometimes when I take a picture, I am not exactly sure what sort of plant or bud I am shooting. But I know exactly what this is: It's a hairy red thing.

I was at the Singapore Botanic Garden for a photo shoot. While scouting for subjects I spotted this Bougainvillea.
