Happy Imagoism Thursday and HGGT to everyone!

I planted Sunflowers. I love their blooms. It gives me a subject to photograph and I can give the seeds away to the birds.

Our nephew spent part of the evening drawing some great pictures on the sidewalk.

Nice to have mid-winter flowers. We've let them spread and probably have fifty plants now. Soon they'll all be in bloom. ❤️💖

Coming in orange, purple, red, and white, Rhododendrons were blooming at the same time as the Peonies. Experts walking around marveled at the good fortune of seeing them blooming at the same time. Evidently there is usually a 1-2 week lag between them. It looked good to me too.

A is for Acer (and Ames) .... Tiny bud at the end of a skinny twig on our much photographed Acer tree. I have pictures of all kinds of leaf states, with and without nesting birds, in sun and moon, rain and ice and now the start of spring....

The red bud was getting ready to pop but 40's and snow in the forecast will probably put a hold on it. Happy Friday at least!

The Magnolia trees are now in full flower with many also putting on lovely green leaves. This bud, in the lower branches of the tree is a bit behind the other flowers whose petals litter the ground below, helped on by birds and wind. Spring certainly seems to have sprung really early these last few warm, bright days but will disappoint and change soon

Nationale Dag van de Paardenbloem

FLORON, Herbarium Frisicum

National Dandelion Day

FLORON, Herbarium Frisicum

25-APR-2021 - Dandelions are among the most common plants of our flora. Don't think 'a dandelion is just a dandelion', because nothing could be further from the truth. More than 250 species have been identified in the Netherlands so far. A flowering pasture can accommodate more than 60 species and gardens have more than 25 species. On April 25, Dandelion Day, dandelions are in the spotlight.
