2026 one photo each day

HBM!

Broken and so fragile... But these tiny flowers on the ground of the streets of my village are at the same time so strong. They hold inside the seeds that can give birth to another plant, that will give again blooming flowers, tiny flowers on the ground, and the cycle will go on.

In an old golf driving range building in Huntsville, Alabama

This fence is broken, just be careful when walking along through the opening to the sand dunes and marram grasse's at bennar beach.

explored but not scouted

Broken windmill, broken trees, broken and abandoned house.

I first published this house the day after I took this photo. I had a new camera and old software. I've learned a lot in the year and few months since then.

The house has been either torn or burned down. It was full of stuff, like the family just walked away. If only the walls could talk. Of course, it was too creepy to get real close so I wouldn't hear the walls even if they did talk... :)

I was walking along the path that runs just behind the broken box. The trail clings to the cliff’s edge above the Deschutes River. I’d followed it out to the canyon rim, hoping for a view.

On the way back, I noticed the box — tagged, weathered, split open. I liked the way it looked and snapped a photo.

It wasn’t until I looked at the picture later, at home, that I noticed the electric outlet inside the broken box. That’s when I realized why someone had been so interested in breaking it open.

Morning has broken like the first morning

Blackbird has spoken like the first bird

Praise for the singing, praise for the morning

Praise for them springing fresh from the world

Sweet the rains new fall, sunlit from Heaven

Like the first dewfall on the first grass

Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden

Sprung in completeness where His feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning

Born of the one light, Eden saw play

Praise with elation, praise every morning

God's recreation of the new day.

An another photo from the archive. Every small river in the region becomes wild in spring. Streams are fast, bridges are broken, waters are cold. The true feeling of the power of life. Now, the world just keeps sleeping in anticipation...

Thank you for all the comments and favs, my dear friends and followers.

Sometimes, I can't explain why I took a certain picture - on this one, I think it was just down to the combination of colours, plus the broken chair.

I dropped my heart egg while putting away my Easter decorations, so this is its farewell before being dropped into the trash.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments and favs. All are greatly appreciated.

Prospectors and those seeking their fortune flocked when in 1875 whilst drilling a well on a station two men did discover a lode of silver.

A town of approximately 3000 soon sprung up and it became known as Silverton.

A few short years later with the discovery of higher grade silver-lead-zinc ore in Broken Hill the boom times of Silverton went into decline.

We can all but wonder who once lived in this cottage.

What was their story?

Did they find the fortune they so desperately sought or did were they simply chasing a dream, that imaginary pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Today it is not a rainbow but rather a sunrise that casts its golden glow over this small cottage made of stone.

Week #13 (w/b 4 October) Lines - Straight lines, curved lines and broken lines! Wherever, we can find lines and they are all about us they will add great depth to our photos. Lines can converge as they disappear into the distance creating a great perspective. Just be careful on those railway tracks!!
