My little ballerina has a broken wrist. Such are the perils of sandpit play when you are four.

.. She was broken, i think it was because she loved too much. And she was always blind to the fact that love too is sometimes broken. -r.m drake-

This is probably one of my favorites from the Austria Flickr Meetup, a huuuge thanks to gorgeous Lisa for modeling, I'm so glad I got to meet you <3
I found this dead butterfly at a butterfly farm during my roadtrip through England. I kept it all the time and when we explored this magical forest I suddenly knew it would be perfect for this :)
I hope you guys are having a great weekend! Thank you for everything <3
When I first viewed this image in Lightroom I thought it was a throw-away. And had I not bracketed this shot it would have been. Once I got the three images into Photomatix and merged them together I was amazed at the detail. The sky took on a heavenly look and the wood grain on the shack came to life. It almost looks profound. Like, perhaps there is a ray of hope for this broken old home.
Taken hand held, 3 bracket shot in Aperture Mode.
Tried to resist... but a bike with a broken wheel... 2:30min exposure, Zero 2000 pinhole camera, Ilford HP5+ film.

In the grass I see
a fairy's wing.
Dreaming like a child
I look to see.
a broken toy wing.
Washing it makes it shine
like new I see
So in the sun with ideas
goes the wing.
Out comes the camera
for pictures to see
The shine and shadows
of the toy wing.
A new life,
it had,
for but a moment
I cold see
The beauty that it gave,
this little broken wing.
Mirrored into a butterfly for all the world to see
Inverted, changed, and rearranged that tiny little wing

One tree in the midst of many others, broken by the recent gales.

Spent yesterday afternoon in Fife and it was grey and drizzly all afternoon. The light had faded and I was literally about to pack up when the grey lifted for about ten mins and it went mad. The filters rendered everything purple but it was so saturated with colour I have to tone it down and adjust the white balance to get a reasonable colour. Purposely didn't shoot closer to the sun as it was really too much colour more to the right.
The filters by this stage were covered in spray due to the wind and then I tried to frantically clean them, but in fading light I didn't manage it very well. Processed this image four times and don't think I will get the shot looking clean.
The pier also has a dark stripe mid way across it and this must be due to water so not a grad filter issue.
Tide had come out a touch so allowed me to get a different angle.

Feeling down, alone, and empty inside,
Decisions to make, but can't decide,
Hurt from pain of a broken heart,
Days go on as if they are dark,
Looking for happiness, the light to return,
My soul feels empty, deceptive, a burn.

Making this photo I had many different meanings in mind. Then I found this poem and it really solidified the connection I saw in both.
I went into the woods one day to location scout and found this tree had fallen. It was large and it took me by surprise. How did I not hear it fall as it tumbled to the ground? What was its cause of death? Something so grand which towered over me now lies broken upon the ground I walk; its limbs which once reached towards Heaven now dig into the earth
It's ironic how this correlates with people - keeping to themselves, not speaking a word, until it is too late.
Pick up a tiny granite pebble in my driveway. Place it on the anvil section of my bench vice. Whack it with a hammer. It's broken. Shattered really.

The "heart shape" (♥) is an ideograph used to express the idea of the "heart" in its metaphorical or symbolic sense as the center of emotion, including affection and love, especially (but not exclusively) romantic love.
The "wounded heart" indicating love sickness came to be depicted as a heart symbol pierced with an arrow (Cupid's), or heart symbol "broken" in two or more pieces.
All of our lives...broken windows...
"And we used to sleep on the beach here, sleep overnight..they don't do that anymore. Things changed...you see.
They don't sleep anymore on the beach. "

The black sands of superstition taking over the greed of daytime lust.
The frame just snapped whilst I was cleaning my lenses. And of course, it happened after the warranty expired! (Luckily I have another pair)

Every week a new challenge to find something to make a good photo for the actual theme of macro Monday. Usually Monday morning until Tuesday, I look several times a day the new photos, the creative solutions, like some of them, post comments or add them to my Macro Monday’s gallery. And of course, If possible, I look for the tag of the week, restrict it by date to last Tuesday during the weekend
From Tuesday late afternoon, I ponder the new theme, try some different ideas, start to make some photos, post one to four pictures at flicker and finally post one of them on Monday in the Macro Mondays group. Typically, I start late Friday to Sunday, sometimes Monday to take pictures and post them here
Anyway broken, broken glass, Spider app, was my first idea. Still have some broken egg shells in the kitchen same as dried Edamame Finally, I settled to four photos this time in BW.
The first one Is broken wood stick, diameter approx. 8 mm, normally used for holding plants. The second one are two flower petal. One of them, there are two parts, the other one is only one. The next pictures are of dried figs, they are not that dry. But neither flower petal nor figs give great twisted lines. Here they are, the broken, twisted, shattered textures of the fracture.
Less than 4 hours, before the first picture are posted into the group, the first fifty or so candidates are already only, HMM
Feel free to leave comments and constructive feedback. No P1/C1 or seen in group and similar.
