The old railway bridge in Fort Augustus, Scotland - Just the pillars remain. One pillar, hidden in the trees, has its own tree growing from the top.
Blog: Something About Autumn
So crawl on my belly 'til the sun goes down
I'll never wear your broken crown
I can take the road and I can fuck it all away
But in this twilight our choices seal our fate
Last night i broke one of my favorite teacups
first i was in shock, then realized i never drink tea anyway
- i fill my cups with water, pretending it's tea -
now i'm wondering
should i focus on the broken pieces
or on the beauty that remains ...
"I like that you're broken,
Broken like me.
Maybe that makes me a fool.
I like that you're lonely,
Lonely like me.
I could be lonely with you."

My husband surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of roses for Valentines Day. He is so thoughtful, he took one rose to each of our daughter's and to our youngest daughter's teachers too. I was trying to photograph one of the roses with my macro lens and ended up knocking the whole vase over breaking it. It's sort of been one of those days, trying to make the most out of the situation. I didn't rearrange anything, just shot these where they fell so they could tell their own story.
They may look like normal size leaves, but these are miniature Oak leaves growing off of that single little stem that has broken out from the trunk of the tree.
This tree is in my landscape and these triplet beauties caught my eye as I was cutting the grass yesterday.
In the house I went, grabbed my macro lens, and captured them from several angles. Here is the result.
What is it about autumn leaves that are so beautiful?!
Bonus “past vacation shots never posted” from the Giant House in Akura, New Zealand. A woman named Josie Martin, an artist and gardener, purchased a house and started to make it her own. While digging in her garden she discovered a wide variety of old broken plates buried on her property. As an artist, she wondered what could be done with them. The results are at least an acre of some of the most fascinating broken-plate mosaics I’ve ever seen

If you want control without any pain
How long will you suffer?
How long will you reign?
You see the friend that I knew?
He cannot be found
Replaced by another
Wearing his crown
There's a place where I go
Without any sound
Only you can reach me
Only you're allowed
And you're so far away
You're so far from here
Do you remember
A time without tears?
When you're falling
I will catch you
You don't have to fall that far
You can make it
I will be there
You were broken from the start
When you were a child
You'd dream all day long
You'd dream of the future
Get lost in your songs
Now that time is gone
It's lost for you now
Words long forgotten
Forgotten somehow
When you're falling
I will catch you
You don't have to fall that far
You can make it
I will be there
You were broken from the start
When you're falling
I will catch you
You don't have to fall that far
You can make it
I will be there
You were broken from the start
When you're falling
I will catch you
You don't have to fall that far
You can make it
I will be there
You were broken from the start
I have never mentioned this in public before. In my early 30's my mother passed away in January and in June of the same year my father passed away. That Christmas was the worst in my whole life, I missed my parents so very much and being an only child I felt so lost and alone. This photo express my feelings during the holidays since my lost, which is broken. My mother loved all holidays but, Christmas was her favorite and therefore the one holiday that always make the memory of her passing even to this day woeful. This photo is for all who have felt the same woe of a lost loved one and find it hard during the holidays.

A broken drying rack near Reine, used to dry fish; you see them all over the islands. Very useful for compositional purposes :)
Sokar uno, is a German graffiti artist who lives and works in Dresden. His focus is on people and their passion for the portrait. Kevin Kandetzki aka. Sokar Uno realizes his photos using large scenes on walls and canvases.
Partial-realistic or illustrative distorted. In soft lines or harsh contours in color or black and white, each character carries within itself its own dynamics. The close link between the artist and his work, and the concise handwriting of Sokar Uno, make each of his image not only highly expressive and powerful, but also extremely valuable and timeless. This was taken on our trip west when exploring grain elevators in Saskatchewan. Lately, I am in the mood for minimalism photography. Happy Window Wednesday!
For this weeks Macro Mondays 'Broken' theme (8-May-2023).
This is a lovely recycled glass wine goblet - I'm not sure how I managed to break the stem, but I did. And I've kept it just-in-case I could still use it for something. And now I have (but I'm still keeping it) 😆
Have a wonderful Monday everyone 😀
