building a wall around the beacon of Democracy, targeting people because of their religion and banning them from entering the country, repealing the law that separates church and state, insulting multiple leaders of foreign countries and outright threatening another, all the while beating the drum of nationalism declaring us to be 'the greatest country on Earth'. That is a dark and dangerous path and I'm asking for the entire world to stand up and take notice and help us oust this nutter before irreparable damage is done. The great blue dot in space is a tiny place filled with diversity and we all need one another. this is where I drop the mic, but you can't see it because it's in print...... :-)
on a lighter note, click the link, you'll be glad you did. (your welcome) :-)
This huge Icelandic lake was covered in Ice that had clearly broken up but had re-frozen to create this amazing terrain. The sky was a beautiful steely blue and not to long after this shot, brought a tremendous amount of snow.

Broken, I have photographed this tree a couple of times before and I just love it. I thought I would show you it with its broken branches this time, the snow helping to create a moody atmosphere.

A few broken remnants are all that is left of the once thriving community of Siberia, CA. The town died when Interstate 40 opened in 1973 and bypassed it.
Finally found some time to perform my favourite hobby, photography.
Unlucky this weekend, broke my MTB chain. So I used it for this weeks theme of Macro Mondays: damage.

This is the first thing that came to mind when I was photographing the sun coming through the trees in the front yard this morning.
It made me think of the song Morning Has Broken by Cat Stevens.
We haven't seen the sun for a bit and it was glorious to see when I got up this morning!
My attempt at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Damage".
It shows a small part (40 mm/ 1.5 in) of a giant crack across my iPad... that I dropped on the concrete floor! (Great job! Better hand this man an expensive camera immediately!)
Shot with a Carl Zeiss "S-Planar 74 mm F 4" lens on a Canon EOS R5.
Broken biscuits don't contribute to your daily calorie intake. That's what I think anyway.
Cheesy biscuits on a cheese platter lit with a ring light from the left hand side.
Caused by high wind, warm climate, and rough water. Interesting that this river is still open. Today lots of snow and the temperatures is dropping from +3 cm when photographed to - 7 cm now. More ice to form and eventually the entire St. Lawrence River will freeze here soon.
