I had another positive encounter with a neighbor on my street. These poppies are at the end of their glory days, so I decided to introduce myself to another person and explain my project and ask for them to donate flowers to it. Mike was such a great supporter. In fact, he told me I could stop by and snip flowers again without having to ask for permission. I accidentally cracked the ice when removing it from the container but decided it added interest so I kept the image and just added some additional texture in processing.
When you're broken, it's like old paint that chips off of the walls..little by little, small pieces of you start to chip and fall away.
Being broken does not mean you are not worth loving, and it doesn't have to turn your heart cold. In truth, being broken allows you to love more deeply when you find that one person...your one....that will love all the broken parts of you. Someone who will see your worth, and want only what's best for you....that will never take you for granted, and will give just as much as they take. It's a compromise of give and take... it can never be a ' I'll give you just a little, but I expect you to give me your all '...There can be no secrets, only honesty, even if it hurts. The secrets are what hurt the most. Secrets, dishonesty, lies... they can tear the most devoted down.

Had to reach into my archives this week....never thought a pinched nerve in the lower back would be so debilitating! Happy Smile on Saturday everyone!
building a wall around the beacon of Democracy, targeting people because of their religion and banning them from entering the country, repealing the law that separates church and state, insulting multiple leaders of foreign countries and outright threatening another, all the while beating the drum of nationalism declaring us to be 'the greatest country on Earth'. That is a dark and dangerous path and I'm asking for the entire world to stand up and take notice and help us oust this nutter before irreparable damage is done. The great blue dot in space is a tiny place filled with diversity and we all need one another. this is where I drop the mic, but you can't see it because it's in print...... :-)

This huge Icelandic lake was covered in Ice that had clearly broken up but had re-frozen to create this amazing terrain. The sky was a beautiful steely blue and not to long after this shot, brought a tremendous amount of snow.
The warm summer morning air is still along the banks of the Crawfish River in Hubbleton, until the sound of three Canadian Pacific EMD's leading fifty nine empties westbound towards Michels Quarry silence the birds and frogs, as they cross the river in fine form on Wisconsin & Southern's Watertown sub.

Playing around with my photo suite again on a selfie from my phone and quite liked the effect of this picture so thought I'd upload it to vary my photostream and not have it all of Asha...lol. Unfortunately my phone pictures only upload small file sizes around 500 KB which is ok if you don't try to get a big picture...lol
I am very happy with this pic... I took it this morning and I did not have to change anything.... Just a little bit of contrast and glow... The bokeh in the background are little wild flowers... Today was super hot and butterflies were standing for longtime in the same place, ...

J'ai beau cherché ce week end quelque chose de cassée, mais j'ai rien trouvé, j'ai du cassé l'ampoule moi même pour la prendre en photo.
This is an outdoor fireplace, used for cookouts. Very popular in U.S. in the 1950's, was built in the backyard. This one has not been used for quite a long time!

A few broken remnants are all that is left of the once thriving community of Siberia, CA. The town died when Interstate 40 opened in 1973 and bypassed it.
