My friend and I found this super cool spot to take pictures and there was a foundation on the ground with this linoleum-ish tile. It was broken and the house around it was missing.
EcoSphere accidently broke. Everything in it was already dead, it needed to be sent off to be "recharged". Not anymore. Oh well
I'm starting a series of South Austin sights. I thought this would be a good start. The Broken Spoke is a major landmark on South Lamar.

I broke my jaw in Thailand. this is the X-ray after i had the operation. 13 screws and a metal plate behind it too.
You can see where the shift lever broke away and where the bracket holding the brake lever in place broke away, exposing the usually hidden (top) camshaft.
I'm impressed that the brake lever did not completely tear away. This would have left the bicycle far less ridable (as the majority of braking is on the front; my style uses almost mostly front brake unless I'm decelerating rapidly, where the rear brake is used to apply cadence assistance).
And yes, pardo has dibs.

This photograph was taken for one of my photoshoots for my AS photography exam. The subject in this photo is a model, not myself.
The XXII Triennale di Milano, Broken Nature: Design Takes on Human Survival, consists of a thematic exhibition and several installations from international participants. It will run from March 1 to September 1, 2019. With the XXII edition, La Triennale di Milano reaffirms its decision to continue the tradition of the International Exhibition, the twenty-first edition of which was held in 2016 after a twenty-year hiatus.
The exhibition that gives the event its name and theme is curated by Paola Antonelli with Ala Tannir, Laura Maeran, and Erica Petrillo. The international participations will be solicited via official governmental channels.
The thematic exhibition Broken Nature will consist of three major commissions as well as numerous loans. An ambitious public program of events––with conferences, panels, workshops, screenings, and performances––for people of all ages will also complement the XXII Triennale.

A movie for every day of the year – a good one
25 August
Paris liberated, 1945
On this day in 1945 the German garrison in Paris surrendered and Paris was liberated, after a battle lasting six days. It had started with an uprising by the French Resistance on 19 August, ...
I bought this Incase protective cover for $30 from Best Buy. I loved it for just under a month before it broke. I've seen a lot of comments online indicating this is a common problem for people. The case has a 1 year warranty but I didn't keep my recipient so they will not replace it for me.
The camp host at Calf Creek told us about Broken Bow arch. The drive out there is an ordeal. High clearance vehicle needed for sure. About an hour of constant wash-board. The hike is three miles to the arch, following cairns and the creek bed. Pictures of the arch just don't do it any justice at all. You are following the trail, turn a corner and this massive arch suddenly appears out of nowhere. In the pictures, you can't tell the size except in a few you can see a tiny person (either myself or my husband) underneath. As the creek cuts under the arch, there is a washout created where you can camp under the overhang on the shores of the creek. We were the third and fourth people there the entire week. The trail was so clean. The only signs of humans were cairns and foot prints. Save water for the hike out. The last little bit (and the first, but you're fresh then) has no shade and the last few yards, you have to scramble up loose sand to the trail head.
