Behold, the Bricknerd Headquarters, in all of its Nerdly glory! This two story modern construction features an office, extensive lego wall, in-house studio, kitchenette, wall space for plenty of movie posters, twin balconies, and a top secret Nerdly cloning chamber. (Baby Nerdly based on the design of Geneva/Kai NRG).
When this contest was announced I almost immediately came up with the name pun, (Modular & Nerdly = Nerdular), then the idea for the glasses as balconies. After that I just kind of threw stuff together till I figured out things that worked. Building a modular is a new experience for me, having never built any of the sets even, but I enjoyed this build, despite it feeling too simplistic in places. The studio area is obviously based on the classic backdrop that Tommy would appear against in the original Bricknerd content.
If you want to look at all of the interior details that I didn't have time to render a good shot of, the 3D view on mecabricks can be opened in the workshop, and the floors are easily grouped.

C&C Welcome!
Overview of the pictures for the structural integrety part of a guest article I wrote for BrickNerd on SHIP structure, angles and polygon construction.
Update to a now slightly ancient LDD screenshot of mine for SHIP frames, that no longer reflects my current thoughts on best practices.

Many thanks to bricknerd, who built an amazing caboose for the Railyard Telegraph Game.
Time for me to build a car for Matt...
I'd like to challenge you to take Nerdly to the next level. What's that mean? That means adding lights, or motion, or insane transforming capability, or building style, or anything you want as long as it's totally wild. Post your pictures to the official Flickr group and if you're coming to BrickMagic put them on display. You can start with official instructions, or go freestyle, it's up to you. There will be prize packages for three winners including an exclusive plush Nerdly! This super squishy and adorable Nerdly is one of only three in the world, hand crafted by Flat Bonnie! So break out the bricks, fire up your imagination and get building, I'll see you at Brick Magic!

Bricknerd was gracious enough to send me his LDD file of his EL RS3 so that I could create this virtual lashup. His is 7-wide and mine is 6, but it doesn't stand out too much. Hopefully next year we can reenact this lashup in the brick; provided each of us actually builds them. Thanks Bricknerd!!
I built a piano a few weeks back. I was inspired by the LEGO Dacta Typesetters tiles, which I used as keys. I wrote an article about for BrickNerd.
Help the daring Pigrates, led by Captain Por K. Chop to rescue their crew member from a grisly fate at the hands of the Imperial Drones, led by Govedrone Stash! The Imperial outpost features a working meat grinder, accessible walls, and a removable roof. The island also features a hidden treasure inside the rocks near the dock. Comes with 7 minifigures and 933 pieces.
This is my entry for pi-RATS & BUG-aneers run by Bricknerd, and I had a lot of fun with the concept, although I would've liked to spend more time doing a more rocky island. All parts are used in existing colors.

What's more adorable than a baby ! So I made a baby lego fig for the #adorabuild contest organized by Bricknerd in the "Cuddly Characters"
Puggles the Pug is so excited because it's his favorite time of the day, breakfast time! Every morning he runs straight to his bowl, and patiently waits for his food like a good boy.

Wow what a year! You know, I didnt build much this year (in my opinion) but this year was a big one in LEGO for me regardless! I usually do the moc collage roundup like everyone else but since I only did a handful of mocs I figured I would post my full year con loot instead!
In April I attended BrickCan Vancouver for the first time, took home a trophy for my Harry Potter vignettes and 2 trophies for my Picnic In the City, including Best in Show. Along with that I got an intense amount of new engraved bricks for my brickbadge...might have been due to myself and Iain being in-charge of BrickChick’s engraver hahahaha! Finally, thanks Adam for the stackable animals, I love them!
Back at BrickWorld Chicago in June, which was a stressful lead up to the event cause a couple weeks after the event I would be moving to the UK and still trying to get things prepared for that! I got such fun gifts from people at BW including, Ted’s nerdified ToyStory Alien that he knew I really liked, Nick’s amazing Ghost that I’ve been asking for a copy of for ages, Sean’s weird cube that I accept as a “You Won at the Nutella Game” secret award, and Simon’s “Best Builder” Gamerlug trophy (why did I even get this??!). Along with Rocco’s super fun Masterbuilder micro watertower creation and a new sigfig of myself with my Groot army from Markus ,I also left Chicago with Best Vignette for HP and Best Artwork for my bike!
In September I was really lucky to have been invited to south Italy’s first LEGO event called Brick Generation Days. Met some amazing builders from around the world and got drenched the craziest rainstorm of my life with Alice!
Right after I attended the LEGO House pre-opening fan event in Billund, and Skærbæk Fan Weekend. I finally got my hands on a Ostrich mech from Simon and was surprised with a micro version of my bicycle from my best mate Iain ❤️
Finally I wrapped up the year with my first attendance of BrickCon Seattle! Such an amazing event and so many things to bring home to the UK I had to ship it over! These items included:
-Party Animal sheep from Paul
-Poptarts from EclipseGraphix
-Drew points winning Mel from Drew
-Mell the Yell and Back to the Future moc from Iain
-Nerdly duplo from BrickNerd Chief Tommy
Finally I was honoured with Best Scene for my HP Vignettes and Artist’s Choice for my bicycle.
Thank you to so many for an amazing year filled with so many memories! That Brickbadge is additions from just this year and its incredible how much this community means to me every year. Living in the UK now I wont be as active in North American convention attendance and am even taking a short break from building at the moment, but hope to attend some European events in the new year and stay in touch with you lovely people! Thank you, thank you, thank you xx
A fantasy adventure where Lord of the Rings sort of meets Game of Thrones. The Snow Guardian is just too cool to be left out.
And yes I am double dipping for Nerdvemeber and Brickscalibur, Frozen wilds category.
I'm really happy about this LEGO creation and I also managed to add a couple of NPUs. The dragon was inspired by the horse battle helmet and i manage to add in some lightsaber and a sausage. I am quite happy also about the tree made with rifle and gun.

Animation is my passion, so when BrickNerd announced that this would be the theme for this year's Nerdvember contest, I was thrilled! So I decided to make a tribute to one of the biggest icons in animation: PIXAR! But instead of simply building Nerdly as a Pixar character, I decided to go with something more unconventional: an animated recreation of the iconic Pixar logo animation - BrickNerd style! I took a digital stop motion approach to the animation process by building each frame in Bricklink Studio and rendering it. It took 141 unique frames and about a day of rendering to complete. I built 16 versions of Nerdly with different poses and expressions to bring BrickNerd's mascot to life using the squash and stretch principle that every animation student learns in their first class when they have to animate a bouncing ball or cube. You can also find the video on YouTube where you can watch it at a slower speed or even frame by frame to see how I used these different builds to make them move: youtu.be/1t7l315okOo
I rebuilt my GP-9 with two train motors instead of two M motors, and rebuilt the trucks after being inspired by Bricknerd's AAR design. Today was also a good opportunity to take better photos of it.
I've been considering putting lights in it, but I don't think I will so that it can be used as a switcher as well as a road unit.
A genset for Uncle Warren too. Ironically, after I built my original UP genset, someone from NRE contacted me about building one for them in BNSF colors. They balked at the unbelievably affordable price I quoted them back in 2007. Oh well.

The Chevy II (commonly known as Nova) served as the economy car in Chevrolet's lineup in the 60's and 70's. It was available in coupe, sedan, four door, convertible and, as pictured here, station wagon body styles. Powertrain wise it was available with either a 4cylinder, 6 cylinder or V8. Most were optioned with the 6 cylinder.

Happy Monday! Here is that much needed cup of coffee!
Had a lot of fun with this build, making a realistic coffee mug was surprisingly challenging. But once I figured out the approach it came together pretty quickly. The angled paper napkin was a fun little excercise in LEGO geometry
This is 100% buildable, using available parts and colors on Bricklink.
As always let me know what you think!
Cyber Fourseater 🚘
I had so much fun remixing the car in 42639 Andrea's Modern Mansion that shortly after finishing my project for BrickNerd, I tried again with 76901 Toyota GR Supra. The result was this Fourseater for New Hashima displayed at Atlanta Brickcon. Of course, I forgot to take any photos of it on the display, but it was in Sector 08 Corporate Plaza cruising around .
I like to imagine that this is the most obnoxious car and gang in New Hashima with their only subwoofers on max volume in the back of this suped up ride. Creating the unnamed gang was really fun too and I tried to lean into every genre of minifig in making them.
More photos on my Instagram.
For Bricknerd and [jaster]. The rendererrer doesn't make much difference between yellow and bright light yellow so I'll need to do it for real, but they are pretty close. The only problem with BLO is no jumper plates. The front grills are pretty easy to separate. Oh, and I totally pussed out on the grills below the cab and just went back to bricks; too easy.

The droop in happening as the wings get wider needed a slim solution, and after reading the shimptember strength building tips on bricknerd.
bricknerd.com/home/structural-shiptember-perfecting-polyg...
I needed to get snoty :P The back end of the wings won’t be finished until later, I need to figure out where the taper of the body work starts before I can start on the back end of everything else.
And done! Well. Mostly. I know that not a lot of the parts exist in the colors, but it still looks pretty good, I think
What I'm after I used Bricknerd's method for the striping behind the cab and on the nose.

Here's an application of the technique I posted earlier. It's a 7-wide rebuilt of my old, 6-wide FRISCO FM H10-44.
I'm still testing various combinations of grille colors and some other details need some hands-on, but I think the time is right to share the WiP. Please let me know what you think, suggestions are welcome!
(Oh, and sorry for the poor render quality - my Mac is suffering from the OpenGL issue that came up with Apple's 10.7.5 OS update)
EDIT: ignore the 2x2 hole in the nose. LDD hates floating cheese cakes ;-)
Skaerbaek 2024 :
My dream is coming true. At the end of September, I'll be in Skaerbaek to exhibit a selection of my creations at the world's biggest Lego fan weekend.
With my Cherry wife, Quentin, Seb, and Edward, we'll be taking part in this week-long trip, which will include :
- Incredible mocs
- Meeting thousands of AFOL friends from all over the world
- At last, a chance to meet my friends from Bricknerd's team
- Visit the Legohouse
- Legoland Park
- Visit to the Lego ideas house
- conferences
- Workshop with New Elementary
- and many other adventures...
This little MOC is my sigfig, which will be produced in a limited number of copies, and which I'll be happy to exchange as I meet people.
Will you be there ?
Nerdly has barely escaped, after his friend the 2x4 plate was melted down into ABS goop. Nerdly has suffered some battle scars, but he lives to survive another day! A build for Nerdvember 2023, mainly focusing on how I could replicate liquid in a solid form, and the use of the anti stud texture.
I knew we should have got the bigger truck, and where's all these people that said they would help me move?
Hi everyone!
I would like to thank the BrickNerd team for their recent interview.
It´s a huge honour for me to have an article talking about my Models and the Event that I recently attended.
Thank you once again!
