This is similar to a shot I posted a few weeks ago, but I thought this bird was work another look.
Hunting a marshy area from his perch. They seem to enjoy amphibians the most of all hawks I know. Buteo lineatus at Brazos Bend State Park, Southeast Texas
Snowy egrets are pretty common, but to me always worth a look. Their appearance is elegant, and their behavior is animated. Brazos Bend State Park in SE Texas 1/2024.
These two were relaxed as could be with me, but they didn't appreciate the insect that kept bothering them. In this pic, it is above the right fawn.
I made a huge error in my settings. I meant to set 1600 ISO but instead set 160,000. Yeash! Brazos Bend State Park in SE Texas - 5/2024.

Great Horned Owlet at Brazos Bend State Park in SE Texas. A second owlet is peeking between the front bird and the tree. I took a lot of pictures over two visits, but failed to get the nice shot of the two birds side by side with their eyes open. Regardless, it was a real treat to see and photograph these birds. 3/2019
This guy landed right in front of me while I was waiting for grebes to come closer (they didn't). Brazos Bend State Park in SE Texas. 7/2018
Mamma great horned owl and her owlet. This was a few weeks ago. Since this was taken, the owlet has grown a lot and most of the nest has come down in the wind. As far as I known the owlet is doing great.
