As soon as I saw my daughter's fun braids, I knew I had to try a high key portrait inspired by those iconic Apple iPod silhouette ads.
Lighting was an SB-600 though a 24 inch softbox to camera right, a white reflector to camera left and an LP120 on the background.
I took this photo in January, but thought it would be perfect for this week's Strobist Sundays theme, "iconic".

I've been massively slacking at braid wednesday, but I never have time to take a picture in the morning of my hair before work and when I get home it looks like poo, so here is Braid sunday!

Saw a hexagon afghan in Woolhelmina's projects and the pattern reminded me of braids. So, third version of how to make a braid into a scarf.

I love the braided stacking, repeated in variation, in the tread pattern. It is like a jazz composition in automotive refuse.
I really like how the shadows are almost identical to those of the movie poster. I also like how Jessica looks very similar to Katniss. Lastly I like the incorporation of the movie logo in it to make it seem more "official".
Shot with 1 Metz 44 AF-1 flash at 1/64 power with umbrella. Flash was 3 feet from subject to the front. Flashfire remote triggers were used to fire the single flash.
