The roving in the photo "primary colors" yielded this yarn. My husband said the skeins reminded him of a braided rug.

 

I love every step of the process in making this yarn and it's satisfying to see what people do with it.

Breanna's got great hair but it tangles up like crazy when she goes to bed so I like to keep it in two braids to fight that off.

Puff pastry filled with an almond mixture topped with an apricot glaze, sliced almonds, and an almond icing drizzle.

I can't help but miss my braids.Low maitenence and pretty nifty.

Day 73

 

I fell asleep on the sofa before I had taken my photo for the day (or night). So when I got up to go to bed, properly, I quickly took this shot to make sure I didn't miss a day :P Editing done this morning!

 

Oh 365, you are a harsh mistress!

Silver laughter falls—

Mara’s daughters braid desire,

gold fades into mist.

Work in progress on the rug. The finished rug measures about 30" x 27.5".

I made this braided mat using an assortment of black and oxford gray jeans and pants that we were not wearing anymore (didn't fit, too old, torn somewhere, etc.)

 

I cut them into strips, atached the strips to one another with hand stitching and braided them. Handstitched in circular shape.

 

Red stitching details here and there to add a little bit of color.

I made this quilt using a jellyroll that my husband gave me for Christmas a couple of years ago. He was so proud that he gave me fabric since he knew nothing about it at the time.

My first attempt at french braiding my own hair. My layers are all poking out!
