I love making these braids, but seldom find uses for them! They are braided on a Japanese braiding stand called a Marudai
liked the lines and shapes in the background simulating the lines and shapes in the foreground.
When I asked his permission for a pose he readily agreed and as I was shooting he looked straight. After 2 shots he started looking towards camera.
He had his shirt around his head as a shawl. I take it as a symbol of freedom and comfort to be with the many who were present nearby.
He was seated on a concrete structure in front of the Wisconsin state capitol building during the "Taste of Madison" event.
I got my hair braided at the fair. It was really well done and I ended up leaving it in for a couple of days.
This is one of my newer creations, and can be used for multi-purposes. I think it looks striking as a centerpiece, yet it measures 18" across, so it would make a great pet bed as well!

A little different from what I usually make. Heat formed edges, I hand made the braid using brass wire, and used brown patina to emphasize the details.
