Part of my shade border. Hydrangea Endless Sumeer, hosta So Sweet, some impatiens (in front of the hosta), a perilla, the ewe (behind) and a pot of pennyroyal.

Smailholm Tower, 15th century stronghold of the Pringle family which was later purchased by the Scotts of Harden. Sir Walter Scott was a frequent visitor here during his childhood. Now maintained by Historic Scotland and is one of the best preserved tower houses in the south of Scotland.

Boggart's Breakfast dance Border Morris (originating from Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire (counties along the Welsh border). It is characterised by relatively simple steps and a great deal of energy. The dances are clearly related to those of the Cotswold traditions. Border morris sides generally paint their faces and often wear tatters rather than the whites that are found further east.

Teams are often mixed. These blue people are Boggart's Breakfast - you can watch them dance in a number of YouTube videos linked from their website - and very exciting they are" too!

Took part in the 2nd cross border run from Gretna to Carlisle, it was a very hot one indeed . Thanks to Rob Westgarth for asking me to run for the Carlisle Audi team and also Julie Tiffen who made up our 3 man/woman team.

A great effort from everyone today..
