Thank you to everybody that views, comments and for favouring my images. Always greatly appreciated.
Paddy never has really liked the wet stuff and treats it with great suspicion, when he has to, he'll walk slowly with disdain shaking each paw as he takes it out of the water, as it gets deeper (to his collywobbles) theres always a perceptual pause :) .... his best ploy is to avoid it all together!!
A fetching looking Thirlmere this morning on the way into work .. and of course Paddy, who is always keen to look fetching!
Mist, sadly departed this summer gone, striking a pose ... she was good at that .. ontop of Whiteside
Border Pacific's only engine, an ex-ATSF GP7u numbered 98, is tied down at the RVSC interchange in Mission, Texas. Formed in 1984, the BOP operates 32 miles of ex-MoPac trackage between Mission and Rio Grande City along the Rio Grande River in South Texas.
Royal Border Bridge in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England. This historic railway viaduct is a testament to Victorian engineering and remains in active service today as a crucial part of the East Coast Main Line connecting London and Edinburgh.
The bridge spans the River Tweed between Berwick-upon-Tweed and Tweedmouth.
It was designed by the renowned railway engineer Robert Stephenson, son of George Stephenson. Construction took place between 1847 and 1850, involving a workforce of up to 2,700 men. The structure is composed of 28 semi-circular arches and built primarily from brick faced with stone.
The bridge is approximately 659 metres (2,162 ft) long and carries the railway line 37 metres (121 ft) above the river level.
Queen Victoria officially opened the bridge on August 29, 1850, and permitted it to be named the Royal Border Bridge.
Despite its name, the bridge is located entirely within England; the actual border with Scotland is about 3 miles further north.

Paddy's mum now departed a few years back. A lovely gentle soul but top dog in the pack and didn't stand any nonsense from them or indeed any other dog that tried .. she was boss! :)
We had a great day yesterday visiting Ewes Harald common to look for Pearl Bordered Fritillaries. there were good numbers flying in between the cloudy spells. this beautiful fresh male landed in a cooler spell and allowed some nice underwing shots. they're beautiful butterflies and have started the fritillary year well. I'm off to the sand dunes of Merthyr Mawr this morning to look for Grizzled Skippers and morels. Pearl's a singer is by Elkie Brookes
