On the US-Canada border at the northwest corner of Vermont on Lake Champlain. The cottage straddles the border.
Didn't learn this until later, but May 28 is the anniversary of the founding of the Russian Border Guard Service. Border guards can be recognized by their green hats, and there were green hats all over Moscow that day, but especially in VDNKh. Both the guitarist and the guy looking to the left are draped in the border guards flag.
After the attack on the Government building, the killed embedded agent was found to be a member of a neighboring country’s special intelligence division, and although these two nations used share a strong alliance, they were now at odds, as the neighboring country was proven to be supporting the current uprising within the nation, presumably to help facilitate a puppet government to take power in order to strengthen their grip on the east. Because of this political tension, the two nations were preparing for war. shutting their borders and mobilizing artillery units- whose sights were aimed at the one country that they considered an ally. Things were different now, and getting worse.
ITV Border's Sandy McCracken arrived at the cottage with cameraman Paul yesterday to film a short piece for the ITV programme "Border Life". The sun shone brightly and the Cruck Cottage looked fantastic following the recent repairs carried out to the thatched roof and having been freshly lime washed by our army of community volunteers.
Once again local residents came along to help us make this another "special" occasion, becoming the audience for the day. Interviews were given by Michael, Willie and Bill Lawson providing an insight into the Cruck Cottages past, present and future - they were excellent.
Our thanks to all those who once again gave their time to help us - it is, as always, greatly appreciated!
Right near the border (basically runs along it), between New York and Quebec; Akwesasne Mohawk Territory.
Rory likes to get Pixie to chase him. He's much faster than her, so he has to stop and let her catch up.

I hadn't done these in a reeeeaaallly long time so I had to refresh my memory by looking at the instructions in some books (which weren't quite the way I was taught) and then digging out my notes from a machine sampler class I took...sometime before 2003 (i.e., I still lived in NYC then). I'm so psyched they turned out so well! Now hopefully the next time I do them won't be so far off and I'll remember how!
Yes, you may recognize the border fabric as the same green from the Scrappy Baby quilt I made my cousin Felix. who did, btw, dig it out of his box of toys the other day and lay his stuffed kitty down on it for her nap. Completely unprompted! :)
Starr is one of two border collies that live with my parents - the other being her mother Lynn. Wolfy visits them frequently. Lynn being the alpha female, will not tolerate him, and hides up. Starr, usually after a short display of anger, will play with him for hours.
Okay, so do you think I can get away with this? I'm not sure if these are actually the border fabrics I'll use but does it look okay to have a fabric border in between the houses as corner stones?
Or, should I follow the pattern (you can see it in my photo stream) and make five houses on each side with a cornerstone star on each end?
Thoughts? Opinions?
