Pablo, a Border Terrier, belongs to one of my friends, along with his sister from the litter, Flame. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of Flame (yet).
This (and the other shot in the series) is another of the very first test-shots I took with my new Nikon D700 and Nikkor 24-85 AF-S lens.

we named the black one Sleepy.
I could have been here for ages, the colours - and different combinations of colours were amazing. I need to go back with my tripod as my hand-held pics were a bit shaky and they are not all in exactly the same place. Need video really to do it justice. Decided to put the 4 best photos together and add a drop shadow. Quite pleased with the result.

Specially selected passengers have taken a trip on the Borders to Edinburgh railway a day ahead of the opening of the new Scottish Borders rail line to the general public.
The owners of a Golden Ticket traveled on three trains leaving Tweedbank, Galashiels and Stow, each carrying 160 passengers.
Others making the trip were nominated by the public or won competitions.
The 30 miles of new track between Tweedbank in the Borders and Edinburgh opens to the public on Sunday.

Newly placed stones accent this border hedge we planted from some cuttings a few months ago.
The ground to the left of the hedge is about 3 feet lower than the grass to the right. It was part of the area that was carved out to create a flat spot to build the house. This hedge nicely covers up what used to be an open scar in the landscape.
