Because the Sabal Palm Sanctuary is located on the US/Mexico border between the Rio Gande and the levee, agents of the US Border Patrol regularly pass by on the top of the levee to keep an eye out for illegal immigrants who might attempt to enter the US by crossing the river.

CEA Assist in Cross Border Transportation
CEA were recently contracted by a Laos transport company to assist in the transportation of several transformers which are to be used for the Nam Ngiep 1 Hydropower Project in Laos.
The hydropower project when complete will produce 290 MW of which more than 90% will be exported to neighboring Thailand. Expected cost of the project is 900 Million USD.
The plant will consist of a main storage dam 148m in height with a 67 km2 reservoir.
The location will be based on the Nam Ngiep River in the central provinces of Bolikhamsai and Xaisomboun, situated 40 km upstream from a confluence of the Mekong River.
Construction Timeline: August 2014 to 2017/2018
CEA supplied prime movers and trailers including one of their multi-axle hydraulic Kamag25 trailers.
The trucks collected the cargo from Laem Chabang Port and made the 1260 km journey across the border deep into Laos to the construction site. CEA will provide support for the next 10 weeks.
This is the bridge that we took to go over to Brazil, which is on the left side of the shot.
If you look at the bridge you'll see that the right half of it is green and yellow - the national colors of Brazil. The left half of the bridge is blue and white for Argentina.
Little known and less cared about information...

Marking the border between the London boroughs of Bromley and Croydon (and effectively where Spring Park becomes Threehalfpenny Wood). On the side it denotes that this is the London Outer Orbital Path with a year of 1996.
Shortly after the border checkpoint, the traffic switches sides of the road. In Laos, you drive on the right, in Thailand you drive on the left.
OK, so I'm meant to be uploading photos of Canada... Anyway, we stayed with Rachel's parents when we first arrived - they live quite close to the US border and Rachel's dad crosses over to buy petrol. He invited me along one day and the conversation at the border went something like this...
"Oh you're Australian? You're going to need six American dollars and a 9-9-4"
"I'm not sure what a 9-9-4 is, I'm sorry you'll have to explain it to me"
"Well, you'll need six dollars in American money"
"Oh, um sorry I didn't realise that - I don't have any US cash on me... Do you take Mastercard? Canadian dollars?"
"No you'll need six dollars in American money"
"Oh ok well, I'll just go back and wait on the Canadian side"
"So are you withdrawing your application to enter the United States of America, sir?"
"I suppose I am"
"I'm going to ask you to drive him back to Canada, sir, just in case he has any difficulty getting back in there"
I was going to walk back but he wouldn't let me. We got back to the Canadian side and explained the situation... The border official didn't even ask to see my passport! I guess they're a little more relaxed here...
I still don't know what a 9-9-4 is...
