Having gone here to see and photograph the Pearl Bordereds we were pleasantly surprised to see a couple of pristine, freshly emerged Small Pearls! Bentley Wood, Wiltshire, UK. 2014-05-15.
This twelve year old border collie epitimized her breed. As we parked our car on the street, I saw a man with a Chuck-it. He appeared to be tossing the ball up the parking ramp, but seemingly no dog brought the ball back. As I approached, I saw that he was tossing the ball against the back wall. The border collie would retrieve the ball, but rather than returning it directly to the owner, she would get to the incline of the ramp, and let it roll ever so slowly down to him. Even at 12, her gaze was intense. The owner also said he had been doing this for a couple of hours.
The actual fence is made from heavy gage metal, filled
inside these vertical sections with concrete. The completed structure is then placed into a deep bed of concrete.
Unused postcard.
Reichswehr picture (based on the caps of the officers in the back)? The Pickelhauben and Dunkelblau tunics confuse me though, that's not very postwar, right?

Forgot to include the obligitory exterior shot of this one when I posted a few interior shots of this store.
As of June 2011, looks like the entire company is in trouble. This is turning into Circuit City redux.

As the men of our squad creep slowly through the pitch black darkness to an important border crossing checkpoint shots rang out. Everyone ran for the small wall near the road trying to search for the MG-42 post. Within moments we hear the soothing patter of our own machine gun fire, but that false sense of security is soon broken when a loud boom erupts ahead. We all knew what it was but none of us were man enough to admit it. Mortar fire continuosly pounded close to our position, it sounded close, very close. The sun is peaking it's head out from the hills now and we easily spot and destroy the mortar and MG positions, laughing at how something so small made us so afriad.
*story*
Borders Group, Inc. (former NYSE ticker symbol BGP) was an international book and music retailer based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The company employed approximately 19,500 throughout the U.S., primarily in its Borders and Waldenbooks stores.
As of January 30, 2010, the company operated 511 Borders superstores in the world, including 508 in the U.S. and three in Puerto Rico. The company also operated 175 stores in the Waldenbooks Specialty Retail segment, including Waldenbooks, Borders Express, Borders airport stores, and Borders Outlet stores.
On February 16, 2011, Borders applied for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and began liquidating 226 of its stores in the United States. Despite an offer from the private-equity firm Najafi Companies, Borders was not able to find a buyer before its July 17 bidding deadline, and therefore began liquidating its remaining 399 retail outlets on July 22, with the last remaining stores closing their doors on Sunday, September 18, 2011. The Chapter 11 case was ultimately converted to Chapter 7. As of October 14, 2011, the Borders.com website has been replaced by a redirect to the Barnes & Noble website, effectively shutting down Borders.com entirely.
Yesterday after seeing this I was inspired to get my hands on a GOOD looking/durable notepad to jot anything and everything my little mind has going on. Grabbed it @ Borders books.
The work has ended and it is time to go home, but unlike the outbound journey via Malaga, I will be returning via Gibraltar. My colleague will return via Malaga in a few days time.
It has been many years since I last used Gibraltar airport.
The flags of both sides of the border can be seen flying in the wind here.
The Gibraltar side has three flags - The Flag of Gibraltar, the Union flag and the Flag of the EU.
The Spanish just the one.
