Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a green day at Color my World Daily and we all need vitamins. So why not an orange, egg and lemon mix to boost our vitamins intake. And since I have a very busy day ahead (with some major laundry folding, vacuuming and a 10km run) I will need the extra energy and motivation for sure!!

I'm quite sure it's still in use during the warmer months. Parked in someone's yard on CR 15, Walsh County.
I have no idea what this plant is but tucked into the bushes, the reddish leaves caught my attention. In this HSS edit, I've emphasized the shadowy branches I was shooting through and boosted a few sliders in LR to deepen the colors! Hope everyone has a Happy Sliders Sunday!

Home made sensitizer from Ammonium Ferric Oxalate (40-45%) and Silver Nitrate (10%) 1+1.
Developed in acidified tap water and cleared in 1% citric acid.
Amazing contrast boost from prefix Clerc's Thiourea Gold toner (which was "spiced up" with 3-5 extra drops of 1% Gold Chloride).
Fixed in Fomafix acid fixer.

I shot this on the second of two nights featuring Aurora borealis displays earlier this month. Geomagnetic storm intensity was projected to peak on the second night, but it started off a little disappointing, with moderate cloud cover blocking most of what was happening above. I went out anyway, and gradually it dispersed.
I stopped at a little bridge over the Frenchman River. Some colour was showing, but it lacked structure. The clouds were thinning. Although less dramatic than the previous night, the scene was nonetheless memorable. I shot a bunch, and then continued my drive, hoping for better definition as the night show continued to unfold...
Admittedly some of this rather amorphous blob-like sky detail (or lack thereof) is from the 20 second exposure. As the Aurora got stronger and brighter, I was able to use faster shutter speeds, which helped. I could have boosted the ISO significantly for this shot, and opened my lens wide to f/2.8... however, I chose to reduce digital noise a bit and add a little more depth of field. Maybe the wrong choices, but I can live with them.

Looking good on both ends back on May 4, 1980 as the daily eastbound Toledo Peroria & Western freight headed by their lone GP30 gets an old fashioned boost out of Peoria by Nickle Plate 765 which had arrived the day before and would pull excursions the following weekend.

Still seeking a better shot of these flighty little devils. More heavily processed than my usual tastes - very low light and a lot of noise to deal with (brightness boosted a stop in LR).

The vitamin boost doesn't just apply to grapes and tomatoes. Photography often gives me a positive boost (and sometimes a bit frustation when things don't work out well). So now I'm curious what gives you positve energy?

11. Former Lakeview Radial Substation
811 Lakeshore Road East
Built c1906
The small building has a unique history and is one of the only reminders of an era when electric streetcars once travelled along this stretch of Lakeshore Road, on their way to Port Credit. The Toronto & York Radial Railway laid electric streetcar tracks along Lakeshore Road, with service beginning in 1906. It is not known for certain when this building was built (sometime between 1906 and 1923), but it performed a critical service. The electric radial cars relied on direct current, so as the distance from the power plant increased, the voltage on the line decreased. To augment this, substations containing electric dynamos were built to boost the voltage, and this building is one of the few that remain from that time, although its usage has changed over time.
