I got a new scarf in the mail today from my mom. It's alpaca wool that she dyed, spun, and then knitted into a scarf for me. It's soooo soft!! And I love the seed stitch.
Jake is my happy model -- he is thumping his tail because he likes to "dress up".
The best little pencil sharpener around! And it has suction cups on its feet to keep it in place! Wags its tail and flaps its ears when in use...

Blue Dog's toy. Perhaps I should get him a new one? I wondered what Blue Dog's reaction would be if he came across a snake. We were walking up the back track this morning, Blue Dog 20 meters in front of me when a good size red bellied black reared up, Blue Dog leaped back and came to my call. Good dog. I travelled the same route on my own later and said snake was still there, I eventually threw a handful of sand near it to encourage it off the track. Even then it took a while for it to get the message.
Im loving the variants ive come across from many other countries.
How much better is this guy in pastel blue?

Was at the Blue Dog Cafe and saw this sculpture hanging near by. I didn't want to use a flash, as a) many places discourage it and b) a singer was performing close by and I didn't want to distract him.
So, used this as an opportunity to try different settings on the camera (Panasonic DMC-LZ7). This was at ISO-200, with no flash with an exposure of 1/8 sec.
By the way, the Blue Dog Cafe has very good food and displays (but does not sell) a number of George Rodrigue's work.
Blue-dog is actually very naughty when it comes to breaking into food. He has an amazing ability to make other dogs look like the guilty ones by virute of behaving when anyone might make a judgement about his character.

Memorial Service for Blue who passed away at the end of June 2016 . He was known as the Elephant Butte mascot ,a city in Sierra County NM .He was about 16 years old and lived most of his life at Butte General Store & Marine

burning off some clear scrub on the eastern side of the mountain top. Did a fair amount of clearing and burning off over the Easter weekend. On eastern side of the mountain top looking north.
Note to basketball owners - don't let the dogs get them. They *can* get theirs jaws over the ball and they *will* pop it. Gleefully.
