JD is in his first year in the photo. He was sitting in an antique rocker that I used to take his photo in for a holiday card every year in the olden days. (I called them "Boy In the Chair Productions"!) The black and white is because it was a xerox copy cut out of the photo. I recently found the makings of my first card and stuck them together for fun.
Today is JD's 30th birthday!
I have always loved this blue dog pin, but find that I don't "do" big pins much! So it has become part of my shelf decor!

He came home with a huge bandage on his leg, but it was soaked and stinky by today. Jake wouldn't leave it alone and insisted I take it off. (The vet claimed it would "fall off by itself tonight" which it did not, nor did it last time.) Jake took off half by himself and I took off the other half.

Thank you for your interest in my artwork. I have been selling online for years and I absolutely love it! It has allowed me to sell my original paintings and prints to thousands of collectors worldwide. I have a Masters degree in Fine Art from The University of Tampa, but consider myself self-taught. True talent is revealed not through schooling but through painting.
Updating this post and applying for a #ds106 daily create. While I didn't "create" it today, it is based on influence of a famous painting. Much like digital stories and digital creations, building off the work of others as a starting point leads to new art and new iterations. Sharing work and seeing my own improved by others is great too.
I will still do a digital mix of TDC1188, but this medium is one of my favorites to work in outside of technology.

Photographed on Matlacha Island
is a colorful, somehow crazy island with lots of restaurants and shops.
Sometimes you can see great motels and houseboats. It's a nice place to look around!
Matlacha (pronounced "mat-la-SHAY") is located in Lee County, Florida, United States. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 735. It is part of the Cape Coral-Fort Myers, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Matlacha is one of five communities on Pine Island, although technically, it is located on a smaller island in Matlacha Pass, east of Pine Island. It is an "Old Florida" fishing village, home to many brightly colored art galleries, island boutiques, seafood restaurants, and traditional Floridian cottages.

Saw this on the DPS forum and it came into my head while I was racking my brain for my 'Tunnel' entry for the BlueDog weekly comp. First attempt which I was quite happy with. Looking forward to trying it again with different pattern.

Most asked question:
"What kind of dog is she?"
Best intuitive answer, from a little girl:
"Mommy, look! A blue dog!!!"
Was at the Blue Dog Cafe and saw this sculpture hanging near by. I didn't want to use a flash, as a) many places discourage it and b) a singer was performing close by and I didn't want to distract him.
So, used this as an opportunity to try different settings on the camera. This is the 'best' in terms of obtaining about the colors.
By the way, the Blue Dog Cafe has very good food and displays (but does not sell) a number of George Rodrigue's work.
