I snapped this one while the family and bridal party was praying over the bride. It was such a beautiful moment, and I don't see it at every wedding so I really appreciate the energy in the room when it happens and I'm there to see it ♥

Woods
by Wendell Berry
"I part the out thrusting branches
and come in beneath
the blessed and the blessing trees.
Though I am silent
there is singing around me.
Though I am dark
there is vision around me.
Though I am heavy
there is flight around me."
From Collected Poems, 1957-1982. North Point Press, New York (1985).

“Every forest branch moves differently in the breeze but as they sway they connect at the roots.”—Jelaluddin Rumi from “Birdsong” and “The Essential Rumi”
"Look at the beauty and perfection of nature. Everything in nature is so joyful, even though it doesn't have the intelligence of a human being. All of creation is rejoicing. The most beautiful flowers are picked by people —torn by their stems. Some are made into garlands while others are trampled heedlessly. A flower has such a short life span, and yet it offers itself wholeheartedly to others; it even offers its own nectar to the bees —and yet it is happy. The stars are twinkling in the sky, the rivers are flowing blissfully, the branches of the trees are dancing in the wind, and the birds are bursting into song. You should ask yourself, 'Why, then, do I feel so miserable living in the midst of all this joyful celebration?'
"Ask the question, 'why,' repeatedly, and you will find the answer. The answer is that the flowers, stars, rivers, trees and birds do not have an ego; and, being egoless, nothing can hurt them. When you are egoless, you can only rejoice. Even occasions that would normally be painful are transformed into moments of joy."--Amma

The monument to the Seraphim Bishop of Dmitrov. Martyr for the faith, is officially recognised as such in 2000, Bishop Seraphim, in the world Zvezdinskiy, suffered for the faith under the Soviet regime.
Actually, the oppression of the Church touched him back in the early 1920s, when the authorities sentenced him to exile, then it several times arrested and exiled.
Priest during his lifetime enjoyed considerable influence and respect among parishioners.
In 1937 the people's Commissariat of internal Affairs feel the need to get rid of unwanted and obstinate Bishop, and in the same year he was shot.
Now he (and partly, as stated, all victims of persecution), a monument to the side of the Cathedral of the Assumption in his former diocese in Dmitrov.
These small miracles on a gloomy raining day, a little raindrop hanging there...like they embrace eachother...enjoying their time while it last. I know...it sounds a little philosophic but I guess that's the effect of gloomy rainy days...
May all beings have happiness, and the causes of happiness.
May all be free from sorrow, and the causes of sorrow.
May all never be separated from the sacred happiness which is sorrow less.
And may all live in equanimity, without too much attachment and too much aversion.

I'm apparently not a very "dotty" person, as making my own patterned paper is as dotty as I get! The aqua pp is made with the Raindrop Background and dotted flower center from the Printed Flowers set. The branch spread over panels was inspired by Lucy again :) Thanks for looking!

The Orthodox Churches perform the Great Blessing of Waters on Theophany.[56] The blessing is normally done twice: once on the Eve of the Feast—usually at a Baptismal font inside the church—and then again on the day of the feast, outdoors at a body of water. Following the Divine Liturgy, the clergy and people go in a Crucession (procession with the cross) to the nearest body of water, be it a beach, harbor, quay, river, lake, swimming pool, water depot, etc. (ideally, it should be a body of "living water"). At the end of the ceremony the priest will bless the waters. In the Greek practice, he does this by casting a cross into the water. If swimming is feasible on the spot, any number of volunteers may try to recover the cross. The person who gets the cross first swims back and returns it to the priest, who then delivers a special blessing to the swimmer and their household.
An old photo that I pulled from my archived back in Jan 2009. Taken with a point and shoot camera. Not the best quality, but oh what the heck

cliche but truly heartfelt-------
"May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
the rain fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of his hand."

"Let's not say another word, we don't need to question why.
Let us pass through this moment like a candle in the night.
We don't need to wave it back.
This is not the final song.
Even though in the sadness tears may fall.
Take my smile, hold it in your heart forever.
And I will be with you wherever you may go.
How much pain must we taste.
How much sorrow must we know.
Will be only nothing losing.
How to cherish when we go.
How agony is like the wind we can hold it in our hands.
In the light of a new day we will understand.
May the love rise to lead you on your way.
May the sun always shines upon you face.
And until the journey brings us back together.
May God holds you in the center of His hands.
May God holds you in the center of His hands." ♫
God bless my special people with happiness, laughter and hopefulness like my prayer which I spend time in everyday when I'm not with them . 'Cause their existing is a happiest thing of my life...

《The blessing of the wedding.》
When do you think we can work together to create the future and have a common direction,
my dear, I let you down.
However, I am very pleased a few years later, you finally realizing their dreams and are willing to share with me.
I bless you in the coming days you all the best.
Good luck, my girlfriend, my good friend.
good luck!
我的女朋友、我的好朋友。

A very special Christmas greeting with best wishes to all my Flickr contacts - and accidental passer-by visitors.
May the light shine on you - blessings, peace and love!
It's so strange when I saw this picture that I took a few weeks ago I thought of this song that I haven't heard since I was a little girl. I remember I was very involved in the GA's it stands for Girls In Action - for Christ. We use to sing this song at camp summer and I also remember vividly my mothers beautiful soprano voice singing this from the kitchen. It was catchy and fun to sing. I can't find any of the more upbeat versions on line if I did I would post it!
Memories can also be blessings from God.
GA Lifestyle Verse: "The Lord has shown you what is good. He has told you what he requires of you. You must treat people fairly. You must love others faithfully. And you must be very careful to live the way your God wants you to" (Micah 6:8 ).
Somebody’s knocking at your door
Somebody’s knocking at your door
Oh sinner, why don’t you answer
Somebody’s knocking at your door
Somebody’s knocking once again
Somebody looking like a friend
Oh sinner, why don’t you answer
Somebody’s knocking once again
It is Jesus who is standing there
knocking at your heart
Why don’t you let the Lord come in
He will change your life
provide a brand new start
and cleanse your heart from every sin
Somebody’s knocking at your door
But one day he’s gonna knock no more
Oh sinner, why don’t you answer
Somebody’s knocking at your door

Pelopidas Mathias during take off. Commonly known as the Dark Small-branded Swift, Small Branded Swift, Lesser Millet Skipper or Black Branded Swift, is a butterfly belonging to the family Hesperiidae. Genus Pelopidas itself are commonly known as Branded Swifts or Millet Skippers.
Wolrdwide known as just Skippers, they are named after their quick, darting flight habits. No kidding, so fast that the animal "magically" dissapear from my viewfinder after the shutter ends.

below - from my dear Canadian froggy friend Art,
~ Celebrated primarily in the USA & Canada. Originally, it was a time to give thanks for a bountiful harvest.
~ In the USA, it falls on the 4th Thursday of November, this year on November 25, 2010.
~ In Canada, it falls on the 2nd Monday of October.
~ Commonly believe that the first Thanksgiving happened in 1621, at Plymouth Plantation, MA.
~ There is strong evidence for earlier celebrations in Canada in 1578 and by Spanish explorers in Florida in 1565.
~ It is also celebrated in Leiden, Netherlands and at a similar time of year, in Grenada.
thanks Art, that made it so much easier,
especially after slaving in the kitchen - baking thanksgiving chocolate deserts.
really a labour of love ♥
charlene licked the beaters from the chocogazm cake
luke got the ones from the best fudge brownies ever recipe.
I do think harvest time is a better time for T'day celebrating,
but heck, let's celebrate Thanksgiving every single day,
eh?

January, 2010 - Pattaya, Thailand - A bar girl prays for a night full of rich, naive farang who will provide her with money to send back to her family in Isan. Most of Pattaya's hordes of bar girls hail from Isan. Most Thai establishments, especially those outside of the majority-muslim south abide by Feng shui. This means that most places have a small or even a large altar inside or just outside of their bar, store or house. The bigger the better. Buddhism almost seems to me to be a competition between temples over who has the biggest Buddha.
During Marriage, it seems like the doors of Heaven open and Allah Almighty sends his ultimate blessings on the both families.
Happy Bokeh Wednesday...!
