O that Blessings would pour down
And flow throughout the Earth:
Wafting and rolling
Across every ravaged forest, tank-torn desert, poisoned river;
Oozing and streaming
Down every city meanstreet, corpse-strewn alley, corporate jungle;
Blowing cross the plastic-piled doldrums of the ocean,
Sinking to the depths where garbage slowly settles;
Until no place left on Earth where God’s blessings have not been.
O that blessings would pour down
Spreading Love and Joy and Peace.
Showing Man his sacred burden ~ tend his precious garden;
To love and cherish her, our Mother Earth.
To share her bounty fairly with all our Earthly brethren,
Men and Women, children, ocean dwellers, birds and beasts;
That Man would wake from nightmare frenzy - greed and pride
And see with newly opened eyes Eternal Truth:
All that really matters is the Good that you have done.
That Blessings would pour down and shine Truth to every heart:
Live in Love and Truth and Kindness: Love God!! Love all! Do good! !

These beautiful hands are my youngest sister's hands. We were raised in a very strict Christian home where my mom taught us there was no such thing as luck but blessings instead. I believe the same as I look at my sister's hands. It's been almost 3 years since she almost died in a horrific motorcycle accident. She still struggles with the after effects of the injuries. It was an awful time in our family's life. So as I look at her hands I feel so blessed to be able to even photograph them.
We spent a lovely day together as we travelled to my mom's to visit her. She is holding a bowl of our dessert we had together. Doesn't she have great jewellery?

It just never ceases to amaze me how we see things with our eye. What we learn and what we think we know. You know I can “see” many shots and compose things ok, for the most part. But it is when you sit, look, think, and wonder…what is it that I don’t see or that I am not seeing. And almost every time you will have another perspective come to light that was not expected. To expect the unexpected takes time. This shot threw me at first. I was just sitting on a large tire at the park while my children played. Everything seemed to be the same as every other time. When I looked at the sky…it was BRIGHT…like a white sky with the sun starting to set. There was no color to the sun whatsoever. As I wondered about how to make a photo from nothing it seemed..lol…I thought I would completely pull my exposure down to get the empty tree limbs against the light. I did not expect the blue….it was beautiful in my fame. Blue not seen with the naked eye but was there to be captured. It’s when you think and try shooting “out of the box”..”out of the norm”...”from what you don’t see”…..I don’t know, maybe every great photographer knows…or can tell what is there that you don’t see…as for me…this was a great reminder. Shoot even if there is nothing to your naked eye to shoot, create. Blessings my friends, Andrea

Came back from Ranthambhore National Park this week. Other than Tiger we spotted many species of Mammals and birds.
This is the image of Hanuman Langur. Probably they are the most ignorant species in Indian jungle as they are found everywhere. But the emotion they always carry can never be neglected.

The Orthodox Churches perform the Great Blessing of Waters on Theophany.[56] The blessing is normally done twice: once on the Eve of the Feast—usually at a Baptismal font inside the church—and then again on the day of the feast, outdoors at a body of water. Following the Divine Liturgy, the clergy and people go in a Crucession (procession with the cross) to the nearest body of water, be it a beach, harbor, quay, river, lake, swimming pool, water depot, etc. (ideally, it should be a body of "living water"). At the end of the ceremony the priest will bless the waters. In the Greek practice, he does this by casting a cross into the water. If swimming is feasible on the spot, any number of volunteers may try to recover the cross. The person who gets the cross first swims back and returns it to the priest, who then delivers a special blessing to the swimmer and their household.

Got this at Beeps, a novelty store in Albuquerque. It's the same place I got Amazon Anne and Eve.

“Breathing in, I see myself as still water.
Breathing out, I reflect things as they truly are.”
—Thich Nhat Hanh
Some paraphrased words of Thich Nhat Hanh that I heard recently in some of his talks:
“Mindfulness and concentration yield insight, like the Holy Spirit in Christianity.
Trinities I heard during Thich Nhat Hanh’s talk
Father – Son – Holy Spirit
Mindfulness – Concentration – Insight
Body – Mind – Environment
Body – Mind – Spirit

This is a re-edit of a portrait taken earlier this week. It introduces a slightly tighter crop along the top of Blessing's hair (just a few milimeters) which was suggested by Poupetta. Thanks for helping out Poupetta!
How great is the goodness
you have stored up for those who fear you.
You lavish it on those who come to you for protection,
blessing them before the watching world.
Psalm 31:19 NLT
Why a chair for "blessing?" Becuase this is from my childhood home. My parents are downsizing and have no need of this table any more. Rather than see it put out in the trash, my family has given it a new home. I am blessed to have both a history to cherish and a piece of it to touch.

My "Irish Blessing" print. It features the well-known saying:
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
In shades of green and framed with shamrocks.
