The ones we love are never gone,

For they live within our hearts....Unknown

Amazing autumny lunch walk in Ockenburgh today

Daily Flower Census 5/20/2022.

My Bleeding Heart was in full bloom when I snapped this shot. They are such a beautiful old-fashion flower.

There was such a breeze .... I was lucky to get even one heart in focus!

Diecntra eximia

North American woodland native. Pink heart-shaped blooms from late spring to first frost.

The plant behind it is a white Old Fashioned Bleeding Heart (Dicentra spectabilis).

Mushrooms from chalet / Champignons qui poussent près du chalet.

This is our first spring in our new house and garden, so it's quite a surprise to see plants shooting up everywhere. I missed these beauties when we moved in in August.

woohoo explored :) #363 but still :)

Purrrrty :)

17 years old girl, previously healthy, vomited blood suddenly at night, and in the ED.

The first specimens were introduced to England from Asia in the 1840s by the Scottish botanist and plant hunter Robert Fortune. In a moist and cool climate, it will grow in full sun, but in warmer and drier climates it requires some shade. The pure white-flowered 'Alba', somewhat more robust than the species, is a popular cultivar.

The guys were trying to catch some tunas but this small shark swallowed the bite.

The hook has penetrated its skin and the shark was bleeding when they dropped it on the deck. I asked the guys to remove the hook and release the shark into the ocean.

I'm wondering if it was able to survive with such a bleeding wound.

I hope it was ...

It's hard to believe a flower can look like this. I watch bees work these flowers. They pierce the flower to get inside for the nectar. You can see the tiny hole left by the bee's incision.

Normally the bullies have destroyed this plant by now, but I foiled them this year by putting up a small landscape fence.

The rust on this section of yellow painted metal gives it an appearance almost like it has been shot many times and is bleeding out.

Closed off from love, I didn't need the pain. Once or twice was enough and it was all in vain. Time starts to pass before you know it you're frozen. But something happened for the very first time with you. My heart melted to the ground, found something true

And everyone's looking 'round, thinking I'm going crazy.

But I don't care what they say, I'm in love with you. They try to pull me away but they don't know the truth. My heart's crippled by the vein that I keep on closing. You cut me open, And I keep bleeding, keep, keep bleeding love.

Note to Self: "You are a frustrated macro photographer. You should have purchased the macro lens instead of the telephoto. Now you'll have to lay out another month's rent for the macro lens. Darn!"

Second note: "Get out there with your nifty-fifty and use it at f1/4 on these little flowers. You won't be getting that macro lens anytime soon."

A neighbour a few blocks away is a professional gardener, and her front yard provides lots of subjects for photos.

Backlit bleeding heart flower beside our house.

This photo was taken in May 2010. I think we need a reminder of the Spring to come.
