On a walk around the city to catch up on events November 24 Christchurch New Zealand. The last time a saw Tall Toy he had block on a string coming form his mouth.. it must have got broken.
This is 'Tall Toys' Giraffe No.16 by Artist Martyn Giles... I walk past this one the other day again and he has some damage... the string with the hook is gone, Giant fibreglass Giraffe sculptures, reaching 2.5 metres high, are now standing tall on the streets, parks and public spaces of Christchurch and surrounding areas until 24 January 2015. At the end of the public art exhibition, in February, the Giraffes will be auctioned so we can all be part of raising money for local charities and turn the city’s Summer of fun into a helping hand for those who are in need.

The community group the Darkwood Crew held its first “Walk about a bit” for kids and adults alike. The first 1k group lead by Karen and the second 3k group where lead by Demi, who where both from the Pals of the Privies community group. While I fallowed Terry from the Darkwood crew whose 5K walk ringed Ferguslie park while trying to avoid the main roads for safety and where I shoot these photos before heading back to the green. Here we had lunch, played bingo as the kids bounced around in the inflatable castles and all had a great time…

Today Jackie was doing the final bits and pieces of clearing up after her sister had stayed. So I took the girls off for a walk in the nearby wood and fields. Whilst drinking my coffee this morning I saw a feature about someone using a macro filter or diopter on a long lens and I thought I have got a macro filter but the only lens it would fit was my 56mm f1.2 lens so anyway here are a selection of images made with that combination.

It's a nice step-through design, and solid as a rock. The finish is a very, very durable black powder coat, just like my Fahrrad Manufaktur T100, which has withstood all sorts of abuse. The saddle is pretty comfortable for what it is, but I would probably opt for a Brooks instead.
