Beginnings

Fellow Flickr friend Trev and I have decided to challenge each other with a weekly theme to shoot and post.

Yes a very trite image...I hope I get into a good groove before too long :)

The main entrance to the citadel is known as the sally port 1 and is the primary entrance to Fort Macon. The three sets of original doors date from 1843-1844.

Margarita Reyes shapes tobacco filler before placing it in a single form to be pressed. The world record attempt cigar will be prepared in sections so that the sections can be arrayed and rolled into the final product during the world record attempt.

The 34th Annual New Beginnings Charity Golf Tournament held yesterday, May 26, at Highfields Golf & Country Club in Grafton, was a wonderful success!

As the major fundraiser for Seven Hills’ Community Connections programs, this tournament brings smiles to everyone involved! Supporters like you, help ensure that our programs provide social, creative, and athletic programming to kids and adults with disabilities—while helping build friendships in the community.

Thank you to everyone who participated. We are keeping the Community Connections alive and well at Seven Hills!

Comfrey - After a couple of weeks of sending out it's sumptuous leaves, the Comfrey is beginning to form the first flower buds. This will grow into tall stalks with more leaves and many clusters of pink bell-like flowers. The plant will grow to 4 or 5 feet and take up considerable space.

Had done a Project 365 in 2008. As a new beginning, I'll start a 52 weeks project this year! Yeah!

Today i crazily decided to begin a 365 project, this makes me stupidly nervous but excited! i'm terrified of failing but excited to see the improvement! i've wanted to start this project for atleast a year but there always seems to be something that stops me but not today! i hope we become good friends flickr you'll be seeing a lot of my mug around!

PS gimp keeps giving me weird lines on my photos? anyone know why this is or how to stop it?

The new station being built at Big Pit

Came across this tonight in a little "time capsule" box I had put away...

This is the FIRST miniature I ever finished painting - the date on the bottom is 4/4/88 - so that means I was thirteen at the time.

My friend painted Ral Partha figures, as did his mother, so I had asked for miniatures and paints for Christmas. My mom had gone to the local hobby shop, and got me a whole bunch of acrylic paints (Polly S had a fantasy line back then), brushes and a bunch of miniatures. This was a Citadel Warhammer chaos mage of some sort.

This was the very beginning of what would become a lifelong hobby.

And yes, I'm fully aware that it totally sucks. :) I like to think I have improved a bit over the last 19 years.

That last sentence made me feel really old...

Day 51:

Muse,

I love you dearly. Thank you for believing in me.

This one is for you.

Every day is a new beginning. Treat it that way. Stay away from what might have been, and look at what can be.
