As the growing medium sinks down in the planter thee beet root just grows longer to keep the leaf tops above the rim. This planter is lined with Polystyrene to protect from the elements

Yes, that really is canned beetroot ... in aspic. Unfortunately (?) it set on an angle so all the beetroot sank to one end of the tupperware container.
The beetroot, with labneh and pickled onions, was a must, but the salmon paired with nectarine was a bit of a bust.
Yes, watched jamie oliver podcast and decided to give it a try. Not that pretty, need to work on that, but tasty and very fresh. Too much of the creme fraiché though.
