lumpy space princess inspired outfit!
unicorn bedsheet dress: Missdandy on etsy
tank: wet seal
shoes: target
lumpy space princess pillow: made by my friend
Just inventory-ing a few of my favorite vintage sheet finds. Many of these probably won't be cut anytime soon :)
Found this one at a goodwill last year!
Came across this bed sheet when we were shopping for cushion covers and other stuff. Of course, I *had* to buy it.
A larger facemask made from a piece of old bedsheet (torn, so not usable as a sheet anymore) and a piece of pink cat & mouse satin.
Prototype because hoo boy I managed to forget E V E R Y T H I N G from the last round of facemasks.
Approximately 9x8 (w/d) and, obviously, not reversable. Air still blows up and fogs my glasses, so I'm going to need to make some sort of spring thing I can thread into the top of the mask to hold the fabric down.

I was really pleased that I got to work with these very wonderful young women again.

Hi, there! My name's Mary (or "Merry" as I tend to stylize it on the interwebs) and I can't wait for the sewalong to start! I haven't made very many knit garments, but I loved making the ones that I have so far and I hope to make many more! As for sewing in general, I've been sewing since July 2012.
You can find me over at my blog, young-broke-and-fabulous.blogspot.com/, and I do a lot of retro sewing. I love swing dancing, and making vintage-style clothes for me to wear while dancing is part of what got me into sewing. Like the dress I'm wearing in this picture, for example- it's from Gertie's New Book for Better Sewing and I made it out of a bedsheet. I tend to do that a lot, actually, making clothes from bedsheets. XD (The dress is blogged about here: young-broke-and-fabulous.blogspot.com/2012/12/i-actually-...)
Oh, and I'm from/live in North Carolina (in the USA), btw.
This is what happens when you shove insane amount of visual inspiration and don't have the tool(s) to reproduce your own works of art .... you shoot WHATEVER you see!!
*edited in Adobe LR 2... didn't have enuff "power" to fully interpret the CMYK colors*
Here is my brother blocking most of the Star Wars pillowcase from the bed sheet set made way back...which I still have and still sleep on sometimes.
Could somebody please teach me how to put photos in the comments? I' d like to post a couple more under this one.
Risto gave me a set of bedsheets today, they' re white with printed green leaves on them. They' re beautiful.

A shot of just the Harley
Because of the 30mm lens, I could have gone with a slightly longer shutterspeed than I did here (1/100sec). It would have made the sky a bit brighter, and perhaps show a slightly little more detail on the saddle etc. But I think it wouldn't have made a huge difference.
Strobist info: Yongnuo 560II, full power, manual behind large white bedsheet on axis (behind for camera) for fill, inspired by David Hobby of Strobist.com. Key light (there for our model, who wasn't on the bike at this point): Canon 430EXII in Phottix Easy-up softbox (70cmx70cm), about 1/8th power, camera right (around 90degrees) boomed pointing down at the steer.
The floral fabric started out as a bed sheet I got from the thrift store. I swear I had sheets just like this when I was a kid!
The other day I noticed that the sheets in one of my daughter's "My Little Pony" bedding set happened to have the same colors as the flickr logo.

I thought I'd give my target bedsheet a try and do something a little out of my comfort zone. Sehra was my accomodating model again this time.
This is my first attempt at using lighting gear with a fairly wide open aperture (f/2.8 in this case).
Strobist info:
SB-80 pointed back toward the previously mentioned bedsheet with a stoffen. 1/2 power.
SB-24 camera left a bit higher than our subject's face and shot through an umbrella. It was as close as it could possibly get. 1/4 power.
Triggered with Cybersync.

this is rambutan, it's a fruit.
sweet and hairy.
idk whether this is true but
"rambut" in malay means hair
so therefore.. "rambutan" means hairy fruit! hahaha ;)
the colour changes from green, yellowish green, yellow, bright yellow, red, and bright red.. but it'll turn completely red and sweet in the middle of august..so sad.. i can't eat them.
i took them with me when i went to my "kampung"/village/countryside last week.
