Online Card Classes Holiday Card Workshop 2012 - Day 6
My card was inspired by the beautiful cards created by Tami Hartley. I rubbed distress ink directly onto white cardstock and then I stamped snowflakes with water to create a ghost effect.
Supplies: Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage stamp set, Bazzill Kraft cardstock, Ellen Hutson Solar White cardstock, BasicGrey Aspen Frost patterned paper, Hero Arts clear gemstones (CH181), Ranger Distress Ink (Faded Jeans), Versa Mark ink, White Embossing powder, Stampin' Up silver cording, and JoAnn's Organdy ribbon.
This accordion album was made with Basic Grey paper from the ambrosia line. It measures 4" wide by 5 12" high and has 8 pages for photos and journaling. For more info on this project as well tp purchase a kit for this project, visit our blog at www.capturedmomentsblog.com.
Just sharing a card that I made for a special little boy. TFL!
Stamps - Hero Arts CL123 Whimsical Alphabet, CL174 Live it Up & Savvy Stamps 1188B Cloud
Paper - BasicGrey, Fancy Pants Designs & The Greengrocer's Brown Bag Kraft Paper
Ink - Hero Arts Black Dye Ink & Color Box Frost White

My two eldest children - that year Naomi copied everything her brother, Kyle, did! For the papers, I used basic grey (sultry) and Crate Paper (Trendy) with lots of stamping (La Blanche and Heidi Swapp)... plus all my fave techniques - distressing, inking, handstitching, buttons, flowers, lacing ribbon, Martha Stewart edge punch... and the butterfly was part of a gift tag my youngest daughter gave to me.

cut all these tiny words out using my silhouette and made the speech bubble freehand. i hand lettered the pronunciation of my granddaughters words. detail photo shows the second smaller bubble, that was painted and then doodled, showing the date. Can you believe a little 14 month old can say so much?

This is my second card with WindyTilda stamp - a risky one :)
I do like stickers and rub-ons so these flowers this time are stickers. Flowers are kind of bright, but I'm quite pleased with the result. It do need one bird but didn't have a suitable one :)
"Life is a series of beautiful moments that, over time, add up to precious memories."
Papers again from BasicGreys paper pad Stella Ruby. Used Magnolia stamps are WindyTilda, TildasSun, TwoLeaves and Grind.
Just a little gift bag I made for a white elephant swap. The canvas flower is Basic Grey, the orange flowers are Prima, the butterfly is Cosmo Cricket, the alphas are October Afternoon and the tapes are from etsy. I clipped the tag onto the bag so that it can be used again.
This is another stamping on patterned paper card. I used SU, Authentique, and Basic Grey for the papers for the hearts. I used Pink Pirouette cardstock for the base (SU). I stamped the flower background in Spun Sugar Distress Ink. The hearts and sentiment were stamped in Jet Black archival ink.
I wasn't sure if I would be able to complete this LO by today, but yeah, I did. I am working on a new scrapbook of my childhood memories. This week's challenge was a great starting point for me. The photos are of my sister and me in the 1950's on our trip to Florida. This was fun to put together and recall the memories. (I have to start working on this book before I can't recall the memories, LOL.)
HA stamps: CL232 for the bubble above the donkey and LL746 Swirl Patterns.
Also Rubber Stampede for the Sun, and Basicgrey PP. I tried Tim Holtz crackel paint on the title (tarnshed brass) and inked over with Adirondack lights (juniper) A little difficult to see in this photo.
This LO is for my personal use only. South of the Border Photo is not to be reproduced.
Thanks for looking.

arrived : April 11, 2013
there are a limited number of fat quarter & half metre bundles available of the 24 prints we received of this collection.
I love the jack-o-lantern fabric at the bottom of the picture and that little scrap of fabric is from Thimbleberries. I lined the handles, so the burlap wouldn't itch when using. My fabric combination is very different ffom other tote bags I have made in the past. I used reproduction fabric and charm squares that quiltgrl_2000 gave me for my birthday. The charm squares she gave me are from the Urban Couture line and the designer is Basic Grey by Moda. The burlap gives the bag a country sort of feel.
BasicGrey Sultry fabrics, green Moda Soiree fabric, blue Annette Tatum House fabric.
Thinking about baby dresses and bloomers.
The white lacy background is from Basic Grey many years ago. It was a prize from 2peas. The black tags are really shiny gold. My scanner doesn't like shine.
Day 7
Inspiration : Why?
[Uploaded 12:30 am, est]
[The background story]
People always think Jon & I are crazy when they find out we have two chihuahua puppies, currently 5 months old. Why get two? Why not get two. We're so in love.
Journaling reads:
"the background story of hercules & harley
our friend julia fosters puppies for the apl. when i found out she had chihuahua pups, i had to visit with them. i had pretty much decided i was getting the only girl puppy before i even got to her house. jon went with me & we both fell in love with another pup-who didn't have a home. that was the end - or beginning. we adopted both pups - hercules & harley. they have other, to play with, rough house with, snuggle with and get into trouble with. we got two so we wouldn't fight over who got to hold the pup. we got two to complete our little family. we got so much more than just two puppies. we got love...puppy love."

Washi Tape: Queen & Co., Bella Boulevard
