Day 2

Inspiration : Knife

[The background story]

I'm not sure how this layout has anything to do with a knife other than the fact that the prompt made me think of sharp objects and I tried to have sharp edges on my page. It worked a little, but not entirely. Live and learn.

Journaling reads:

"Right here...right now...seven random life details:

1. loving experimenting with BOLD nailpolsh [currently bright purple] 2. trying not to drink [as much] diet coke 3. taking more photos...thank you iPhone 4. want another tattoo 5. LOVE remodeling my house 6. SO IN LOVE 7. embracing change"

Yay for LOAD Day one!

This is the digitally stitched version, but you can see the individual pages in my gallery.

Journaling reads:

"There has always been something amazing to me about the way musical artists can write songs that so perfectly relate to my life. A dear friend gave me the idea to create a "soundtrack of my life" featuring new songs each month. It's a beautiful thing.

I love to listen to the words-they often get stuck in my head & I often quote them. Music is always on around me and unless I'm at work, it's country. My itunes library is packed with my favorites-Kenny, Zac Brown, Toby and so many more. Here are some of my most recent favorites:

"Cause if you don't know where you're going-you might end up somewhere else" --Toby Keith. "thank God for all I missed-'cause it led me here to this" --Darius Rucker. "I'm at these crossroads in my life..." --Kenny Chesney"

This is my card for Card Patterns sketch #168. I used a stamp with a vintage add for sewing machines, so the card has a sewing theme. The Sewing Ad stamp was stamped twice on a torn tag which I found in my scrap basket. It had been aged with walnut ink. The great sentiment was stamped on a blue canvas scrap. For the background I used a piece of sewing pattern and inked it a bit with Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain. I also added some cheese cloth underneath the tag and stitched everything in place with my sewing machine. TFL!!

Blogpost: layersofink.blogspot.com/2012/06/card-patterns-168-journe...

Supplies: Prickley Pear Sewing Ad, Journey Awakens stamps; Distress Ink: Frayed Burlap, Walnut Stain; Archival Ink Jet Black; BasicGrey patterned paper; manila tag, Tim Holtz idea-ology clothing hanger; walnut stain; velvet ricrac; buttons; old sewing pattern; cheese cloth.

Background is made by spraying Sugar Maple Glimmer Mist onto Ranger non-stick craft sheet and dipping watercolor paper into it, then turning it right side up and drying it with a heat tool. Sentiment from Hero Arts CL218 Love That Sparkle Clear set and stamped using Tsukineko VersaFine Vintage Sepia pigment ink. Rick rack from Basic Grey. Mounted on kraft cardstock edged with Tea Dye Distress Ink. Focal piece is my original photo in a tag ring made using a Making Memories Tag Maker tool. Attached using foam for dimension.

Thanks for looking! :-)

I was asked to make a few cards for some one & this is what I have come up with. Unfortunately this was rejected because the person it is for has a phobia about birds. TFL

Sketch 221 Pencil Lines

Basicgrey Papers

We love going to pizza express because it's set up so that the parents feel like they're eating at a grown up restaurant (nice wines, nice food, lovely atmosphere) but the kids are welcome and really enjoy themselves too.

I did this layout using Basic Grey Boxer papers and I also cut up some Pizza Express boxes to add to the layout. The Pizza Express logo came from a pizza box and I covered it with Crackle Accents and then inked it.

The photos were cut so that the boys look like they're all interacting together in the same picture when in fact it's individual pics of each boy. It's hard to take good action shots of everyone sitting around the table, but with careful cutting, I think I pulled it off :)

The journalling reads:

We all love Pizza Express!

A place for the grown ups to feel like they're at a grown up restaurant, while the children are welcomed enthusiastically.

Callum always orders Pepperoni pizza and Connor loves the Margherita pizza.

Charlie likes the crayons best.

Something for everyone! :)
