While I was at it, I thought I would make a matching card to my distressed layout for challenge entry...
Patterned paper: Scenic Route
Stamps: HA CL140
Clear epoxy stickers: EK Success

This is the first card I have managed to do for this week's online card class His/Hers. I thought I could use it as a birthday card or maybe a Father's Day card for my grandpa. It follows Shari Carroll's card in layout and design. There is only a little stamping, using the HA tweed stamp on the circle with Red Royal shadow ink and the "2" which is a 7 gypsies stamp in Cup o' Joe. The inside has "Swell" also stamped in Cup o' Joe. Papers are from BasicGrey Oxford collection and the DCWV Weathered stack.

I was working on a square card which went horribly wrong, so I made a scrapling with the rest of it so that the evening wasn't a total disaster.
I love the combo of this sentiment with the squirrel in the clear set, and I also like to have my animals peeking/popping out whenever possible!
Hero Arts clear design birds, tree & messages, sparkle clear hello birdie, paper basicgrey, chipboard heart circle unknown.
These were inspired by Kristina Werner. I loved the one she had on her blog. She put transparency in her circle. I decided to forgo the transparency and put a scallop to highlight the flowers inside.
They are for my cousins baby shower. I like to give thank you cards so it's one less thing the mom to be has to worry about.
the flowers inside were stamped with 2 different colors and then I painted them with Shimerz....if you haven't used this product I urge you to go find some...this stuff rocks! :)
HA stamps setCL184 thoughtful messages was used. Flower stamps are Magenta and all paper is Basic Grey. Love those 6x6 packs.
Little grass man is a project oury dd did for my dh for Father's Day. Fill nylon stocking with grass seed, then dirt. Tie tight, place in a miniature cup of water, glue on eyes and flower. In a few days your "guy" will have "hair"

This layout was somewhat out of my comfort zone, not in terms of the challenge, but in terms of the way it came together. I found serious inspiration from The Gutsy Mom [Margaret] here : www.flickr.com/photos/43196155@N02/7217332456/in/photostr... and used her page as a sketch for my own.
Journaling reads:
"one of my favorite things about the art museum was the enormous floral display in the front window. such giant bursts of color - so inviting! i loved talking art with you & being able to see true picasso's, jackson pollack & mondrian pieces! let's go on more art adventures together! april-may 2012"

Day Eight
Inspiration from the Vera Bradley ad...I rotated the page 90 degrees to the left.
I feel like I should have more journaling on this page...but I didn't know where to put it. I know the background is super busy, but I am glad I got these photos scrapped.
I used vellum to act like the tape in the ad, was a little more subtle than the tissue tape I have on hand.
Journaling reads:
"Stir Crazy @ Legacy Village: a wonderful place for lunch or dinner! Market Bar love!"
Supplies Used:
Cardstock: Bazzill [black], The Paper Company [kraft]
Vellum: The Paper Company
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey
Pen: Staedtler
Ink: Ink It Up!
Corner rounder: We R Memory Keepers
Adhesive: Scotch, Xyron

This is one of those that was much better in imagination than in execution. I think I may do another for this challenge.

Today I'm sharing a card that I made for a Paper Crafts call, this was my first time submitting to a magazine. It was not chosen but I plan on challenging myself again!
This card started with the patterned paper. I used the side with the circles for the background and the stamped images. For the planet in the lower right hand corner I used the grid side. To color the images I used distress ink and a little water. TFL!
