I had seen a layout [and for the life of me I cannot remember where], where they did the positive/negative stitch marks and I loved the way that it looked, so I tried to do it around my photos.
This is the digitally stitched version but you can see the individual pages in my gallery.
Not sure why everything looks crooked...I think I scanned funny. Everything is straight in real life...I swear. :) [BTW, I'm against dotting the letter "i", so that's why they aren't there. I didn't forget to put them on.]
There are gems that don't show up very well, I've added them as notes. They are light green and match the patterned paper.
Journaling reads:
"Over the summer on my way home from work I avoided hitting another car swerving into my lane on the highway. I hit the wall and flew across four lanes of traffic. I got this rental car & all my friends called it the "minivan." I was not amused. 2-21-11"
[It's kind of a funny story. I think minivans are the worst thing ever and I vow to never own one, but I'm also in my 20's so they're really not the epitome of cool. Every one of my friends called this my awesome minivan for the month that I had it...mainly because of the sliding doors in the back. I hadn't documented it until now.]

Day 2
Inspiration : Knife
[The background story]
I'm not sure how this layout has anything to do with a knife other than the fact that the prompt made me think of sharp objects and I tried to have sharp edges on my page. It worked a little, but not entirely. Live and learn.

Journaling reads:
"There has always been something amazing to me about the way musical artists can write songs that so perfectly relate to my life. A dear friend gave me the idea to create a "soundtrack of my life" featuring new songs each month. It's a beautiful thing.
I love to listen to the words-they often get stuck in my head & I often quote them. Music is always on around me and unless I'm at work, it's country. My itunes library is packed with my favorites-Kenny, Zac Brown, Toby and so many more. Here are some of my most recent favorites:
"Cause if you don't know where you're going-you might end up somewhere else" --Toby Keith. "thank God for all I missed-'cause it led me here to this" --Darius Rucker. "I'm at these crossroads in my life..." --Kenny Chesney"

This card is for The Play Date Café #107, which is a colour splash challenge (black, white and orange). I just got the background stamp, love it. It was white embossed on black cardstock. The tag was stamped with Memento Tangelo and the snowman was inked with Versafine Onyx Black, masking off the nose. Then the nose was inked with a Tangelo marker. The buttons were coated with black Enamel Accents (I smudged it a bit). TFL!
