A female night heron plays coy with the camera on Pacheco Pond in Novato. I think this is the heron behind the silhouette from Monday (Link).
Today is day 161 of Project 365 (Thursday).

These timid Hepatica (mouse ears) were just peeking through the leaves in the soft morning sunlight. I was surprised, but delighted to finally see some color in the deep woods!
We are due for warm spring rains hopefully soon . . . that will bring more surprises in the woodlands.

I think the texture layer maybe changed the color too much... this is actually more of a lavender color.

There's one in every crowd! Even the Puffin kingdom has them! North Atlantic Puffins near Elliston, Newfoundland and Labrador
Today, we are heading to the Magic Kingdom for a shot of the Main Street Electrical Parade. I use to struggle photographing this parade but after buying the Sigma 35mm, 1.4 Art Lens, the struggle is gone. I can't say enough good things about this lens. It's absolutely phenomenal in low light situations. When you accompany that with a camera that performs awesome when using a high ISO, you can't go wrong. Have you had a chance to use Sigmas new 35? Have a great weekend!
Thank you for your visit, comment or fave. All are much appreciated.

Photos and textures used are my own. I have another photo of this flower without the leaf at the top right but it just did not look so interesting to me so I used this one.
These are some of the most interesting birds to watch. What amazes me is the long eyelashes and pretty facial plumes they have. I've not been able to ID this one yet, but I will post the ID as soon as I have a moment to look it up. Anyway this image was taken during a walk my son and I took through the Jacksonville Zoo aviary last Sunday. (Full frame, no crop)
The young chef was a little embarrassed by the attention he received while cooking his delicious mutton brochettes on the grill outside the restaurant in the old quarter of Sandaoling.
