This little stem was standing a little taller than the others and catching the early evening light. I find it interesting that the flowers catching the light appear more violet in colour whilst those in the shade are a deep blue!

a few Damselflies i saw on my Holiday, nice to see some, this is a female Bluetailed Damselfly, havent seen any in Whitstable.
she was a bit shy in front of the camera at the begining of the shoot.......but by the end of our session she really opened up...
While I was at the Capitol grounds, I grabbed a bunch of Magnolia pics. The light was harsh, but I managed to get a few keepers.

Bashful Little Owl owlet - taken very late evening in August from a hide - eery very high ISO so quality lacking but so good to see and isn't he just adorable? lol

I was walking towards the garbage to throw away my badly wilted gerber daisies, when of course I thought, "Maybe I should photograph these first!" I put them on the table with my large oil painting which hangs in the dining room as the backdrop ... I like the way they turned out!
For this one I used several textures I already had, but also one from my bokeh-only series I took earlier today by my pool. It was the first time using my own texture ... made me feel all warm and fuzzy. ;)
I'm really excited to be combining my new passion for photography with my old passion for painitng - in this case both in the processing and in the actual photo itself! :)
Another day at the park, another squirrel to take a picture off. Though this guy was a tad camera shy.
Look closely to find the lunar eclipse hiding under the Bay Bridge. Despite only having my wide angle lens with me, I was grateful to actually have a chance to see and photograph this great eclipse, seeing as I usually miss them behind cloudy weather or busy schedules.

Mimosa pudica (Sensitive Plant) (pudica = shy), is a creeping annual or perennial herb often grown for its curiosity value: the compound leaves fold inward and droop when touched or shaken, re-opening within minutes.
