VMFA-312 is temporarily augmenting MAG-12, 1st MAW under the Unit Deployment Program, which aims to provide squadrons stationed in the continental United States with experience training in the Indo-Pacific. A closeup of the Almirante Brown Antarctic Base, pictured elsewhere in this set.
The base was built by the Argentinians in the 1950s---prior to the ratification of the Antarctic Treaty---when nations were scrambling to make territorial claims in the Antarctic. Just a few miles away stands González Videla, a base owned by Argentina's longtime rival, Chile. In the winter of 1984, a physician stationed at Almirante Brown went insane at the prospect of staying at the station for the duration of the long Antarctic winter, and burnt the base down. As it turns out, the physician was something of a pyromaniac and has since been committed to an insane asylum after starting more fires back in Argentina. Since the fire, the base has been mostly rebuilt and is now manned during the summer.
Another hospital in Glasgow, another visit. The signage around Gartnavel General Hospital is an awful lot better than at QEUH over near Renfrew; it might be because this one is mostly just the one tower block and highly logical, not some architect's wet dream of a space station.
Almost all of the old Royal Lunatic Asylum, later, the Royal Mental Asylum, and later again, the Gartnavel Royal Hospital, remains to the west, although the eastern block is disused and not quite derelict.
Gartnavel gets its name from Gart-nan-ubhal, Gaelic for an apple orchard, which I believe stood in the fields to the east of the old Royal Hospital, and where the General Hospital was later built.

Of all of our packaging products offer clients the most versatility as they can be made in nearly any configuration and feature a wide variety of functional options.
A slag car based around the idea of being able to tip the vat. I was inspired by someone's photo in Train MOCs involving ore cars and another involving micromotor pantographs. I had plans to make the vat tip-able from one end of a train until I realized the point at which it rotates also moves sideways.
The result was a slag car which draws from several different designs, but maintains the base idea and is easy to build. Filling the vat with trans-neon orange pieces should sufficiently simulate molten slag.
The vat has a little play based on what I can do in LDD, so I'll probably go back and add more support to that bit.

A helo on display at Norfolk. I keep wanting to call em 'Choppers'. To much MASH I suppose. Chopper is Army, Helo is Navy/Marine
The business end of a mobile phone transmitter. This equipment rack (switches at the top, batteries at the bottom) handles all calls and data travelling between the wired phone network and the transmitters.
This unit just happens to be located next to the school's internet equipment rack up at the TV tower; a very noisy place to be.
