so another Space themed toy inspired by Star Wars ?
The year of production 1977 makes that a likely guess !
TootsieToy adding in some monochromatic figures to
their metal and plastic vehicles assortment.
The two figures and all the great fantasy art based on the figures on the box make up for the lack luster vehicles .
So these fantasy themed play sets from TootsieToy are most appealing sealed in the box. Which is amazing to find any intact . As the toys are just laid in a tray and cellophane wrapped over. A very thin cellophane wrap.
So they get tears easily. And people will clear tape spots on the cellophane. The astronaut is Major Mars. The green robot is Zoltan/ Android . Says on the bottom of their feet bases.
I found these figures loose in the wild years ago before I ever knew what they were or went to. So as an adult collector I got to solve the riddle of the TootsieToy fantasy figures.
No known back story for these characters, other than what we can gather from the art work on the box.
It would appear Zoltan may be an assistant to Major Mars. But in one of the scenes Zoltan appears to be shooting a laser at Major Mars. So I don't know !

This aircraft is equipped with special High-Frequency (HF) communications gear. It was operated by the 223rd Flight Unit State Airline of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation at the time of this picture. Note logo on the fuselage. I also took a picture of this plane at Chkalovsky in August 2003. It was at that time painted in civilian colours with Aeroflot-titles.

If you haven't had a chance to get out to the seaplane base during airventure. I would highly suggest it to everyone. I've been going to Oshkosh for the past 27 years and this was the first time I went out there. I was very impressed with everything out there. It's a really nice escape from all of things going on around the airport. It is definitely a place to go if you want to relax a bit and the crowds are getting to you. But just be sure to get out there in the early morning to beat the masses.

This is a little Lego Ideas concept I had rolling around for awhile now. It is a lunar mining facility run by a group of six robots. I've always had a deep love for the older space themes Lego made during the late 80's mid 90's. Things like Blacktron, or Unitron, or insectoids, they all were quite inspiring and spectacular to me!
This set proper, took little over a week to build, with a few hiccups here and there. The base itself took the longest to build, and was the one that underwent the most redesigns. It was either too crowded to fit the details I wanted inside or just way too big and looked a bit off.

Yasukuni Jinja is a Shinto shrine in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. It was founded in 1869 by Emperor Meiji, and is dedicated to the spirits of almost 2.5 million soldiers who have died in battle for the cause of Japan in 11 major conflicts. That number also includes some Taiwanese and Korean soldiers as well. However, it excludes forces of the Tokugawa who were considered enemies of the emperor during the Boshin War. The shrine has been quite controversial over the years for who it has chosen to/not to enshrine. War criminals are enshrined here to the outrage of many including former Emperor Hirohito, who refused to visit the shrine from 1978 until his death in 1989.
