Just baking myself a little monster out of fimo. its looking ok for a 1st attempt, i'll start painting it tomorrow.

Baked Alaska with berries and cherry coulis. Served aboard the Westerdam on route from Alaska. It's cake and ice cream, covered with meringue and baked until slightly browned. Yummy!
We had already eaten a ton, but here was the aftermath. Put some oil down, put the seeds on the sheets, then put some salt on top. Bake at 350° for about 20 minutes, and stir them around every so often. Delicious!
1 graham cracker crust
16 oz greek yogurt
1 bar cream cheese
1 c sugar
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp lemon zest (1/2 lemon, zested)
3 eggs, separated
bring all ingredients to room temp, beat egg whites, combine remaining ingredients in food processor and pulse for 45-60 seconds, incorporate whites by hand. bake in a shallow water bath at 350 for 45 minutes. DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN DOOR, turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake in there for another 20 minutes. cool for at least another hour before covering and refrigerating before serving. refrigerate for at least 6-8 hours.
I've been baking bread these days. This is such a great way of doing it! 3 cups of flour(any mixture), 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp yeast and 1 1/2 cups of warm water. Mix together and cover the bowl with plastic wrap(it helps keep the dough from forming a crust). Then I put it on top of the fridge to proof overnight or up to 25 hours. Then punch it down and form into a ball on a well floured surface. Cover with a dry clean tea towel and let rise another 2 hours. Half an hour before baking preheat your oven to 450 F and put a cast iron dutch oven into your oven to heat. When your oven is ready dust the inside of the dutch oven with cornmeal and gently place your ball of dough into the pan, put the lid on and place it in the oven and bake 30mins. Then remove the lid and bake another 15 to 30 mins. Let it cool before cutting or eating. This is a pretty great recipe. I double it for our family and cook one ball on my pizza stone. When I have placed the dough on the stone I add 1/2 cup of water to the bottom of the oven for moisture. Then close the oven and don't open until done. Go on and try it! You won't regret it. Trust me:)

Baked and finished! Snickerdoodles are known for their crackle appearance. The combination of cinnamon, sugar, and nutmeg are coated around the outside of the cookie, where earlier on you rolled the tiny dough balls with, which will result in this crackled appearance. It's where most of the flavor comes from!
