Baked Courgette Filled with Red Pepper, Sweetcorn, Feta + "Diu" on Tomato Rague and Rocket Salad. An inspirational dinner had at The Northgate. I adapted this with great success and have made it twice since!

April Showers made me bake saturday and sunday this week!
I made 'chaussons aux pommes' , filled with homemade apple compote from our neighbours apples (last year) and homemade blackberry jam (by Graham). They were yummy and left overs got eating at breakfast time!
Des petits chaussons aux pommes par temps de pluie. La compote maison etait depuis une eternite dans le frigo et je n'arrivais pas a la terminer. J' ai fait une variante avec la confiture de mure que Graham avait faite l'an dernier, pour donner un peu de couleurs.
Les chaussons, c'etait le meilleur 4H apres l'ecole pour moi. Et pour vous?

I made banana bread! It looks pretty much like it's supposed to! (I sprinkled a handful of chocolate chips on the top for an extra treat.) It tastes good! Whee!
This was a semi-celebratory baking session, too. More later!

Nature Conservation Program organized an action against a proposed dam on the Elbe River in the Czech Republic. They threw baked fish, made from flour and water into the river as a sign that the dam will endanger, among many other things, fish.

I made cookies tonight. I will feeling PMSy. Usually my baking gets messed up when I feel this way. It's strange. The hearts were all off a little and lumpy, but still tasted good. Especially, after I dipped the shortbreads in chocolate.
Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire, is an architecturally significant Elizabethan country house in England, a leading example of the Elizabethan prodigy house. Built between 1590 and 1597 for the formidable Bess of Hardwick, it was designed by the architect Robert Smythson, an exponent of the Renaissance style of architecture. Hardwick Hall is one of the earliest examples of the English interpretation of this style, which came into fashion having slowly spread from Florence.
