A nice, big backyard! What a luxury in NYC. Beyond the rear cement path, the space extends probably another four to six feet. It's a bit over grown, but I'm thinking I may eventually build a raised platform with a pergola above it. I'm imagining a table an chairs where we can chow on some yummy BBQ in the Summers.
I believe this rabbit is pretty old, nothing seems to disturb him. You can almost walk right up to him, even then he just walks away, not run mind you !

While watering the flowers in my backyard, I spotted this beauty feeding on the butterfly bushes. HA! Appropriate name indeed! I put the hose down, grabbed my camera and, since he/she was unconcerned about me and therefore a willing subject, I got some shots.
I realized that I hadn't taken any pictures since returning from China in November, so decided to step out on the deck to see what might be out there this afternoon. In the upper left quadrant, a Mourning Dove, a Dark-eyed Junco and a Red-bellied Woodpecker; in the upper right, a Downy Woodpecker; lower right, a Black-capped Chickadee above an American Goldfinch in winter colors, and on the feeder, a House Sparrow, White-breasted Nuthatch and a House Finch, and bottom left, a Fox Squirrel.
There was also a Brown Creeper, but I was too slow getting the camera up before it went around the tree and disappeared. Oh, well.
I exaggerated the trees to pretend we live in Maine, at least during the summer. Yesterday was 91 and humid. The pool takes up most of the yard. I have another corner with some veggies and flowers. Hoping to see sunflowers again on the other side of the fence, last year they were up to the garage roof.
