We haven't any outdoor space at our house in Boston, so it was nice to spend the day outside in Minneapolis.
This clever chipmunk figured out how to shimmy up my bird feeder pole to help himself to as much safflower seed as he could stuff in his cheeks. It was very cute, but I bought a squirrel baffle so he would stay on the ground.
7 years ago I planted a maple tree in this corner of my yard and built a deck, with the hopes that someday it would shade a couple lounge chairs out there. It took a while, but the tree finally grew enough to provide shade there for 3/4 of the day.
I took this picture from my porch. My yard is flooded. When it rains in Southern California, everything floods because there isn't drainage for all the excess water . My house is a good 5 feet up, but I'm sure my garage is going to be wet wet wet.
This little guy has been digging up the flower beds and making off with unauthorized seed. I caught him but wasn't expecting his resistance.
It's taken three months of finding the right contractor and one month of work, but the new backyard and patio are officially done. Only one photo-sensitive flood light remains to be put up.
Taken a couple of years back. I like the simple lines. I gotta keep an eye out for more of these minimalist type images!
... watching the squirrel go down to pick up a morsel - then back up the tree finding a dandy spot to enjoy his feast.

The sunset this evening didn’t last very long, but it was certainly worth shooting these photos.
