Life Book 2014 Week 8: the Joy of Intention --I like the background better than the finished piece. I'm glad I photographed it.
Pages defined in the folded paper journal from the "Inspiration Station" Class (journalworkshops.ning.com/) on Jennibellie's Journal Workshops.
Background is poster paper. It is made of scrap pages, acrylic paints, and stencils. Pages are defined by rubbing black gesso along the folded edges with my finger.
This folds like a 1 page 'zine.

this is a piece of watercolor (arches 140lb) that has already been streached. Before I started a painting on it I wanted to create an interesting background area - so I wet the paper with clean water and then in a circular motion around the outside edges painted: 1) mameri primary yellow 2) old holland red gold lake 3) cobalt blue. Then I splattered some hasan yellow (grahm) and primary magenta (mameri) and sprinkled in table salt with a little touch of kosher salt. The salts create an interesting effect once the surface drys (however I'm not sure it will appear in this pic since it was taken when the paper was still wet).
