Another of my experiments. This photo was taken in colour on quite shallow DOF. When converting to bw, I accidently removed the blues which gave the photo this funny texture. I quite like this dirty, messy looking background - like an old, abused print.

I'm still playing with a few other possibilities.

Background fabric is the grey basket print from Hope Valley, and the 'white' is (I think) essex linen in natural. It's kinda offwhite, to match the cream tones in the grey fabric. There's a chance I'll switch to Kona ash, because I'm afraid the natural essex is too warm for all the cool tone prints I'm going to use.

I decided to make this quilt because of all the gorgeous sunny quilts I was seeing, but the prints I kept gravitating towards were all so dark and rich! Must be the weather.
