Twitter changed it's layout around so we needed a new background. Here's what we came up with.

the background is a combination and blend of textures that I DL at texturemate .
Textures Numbers : 835 , 881, 2845 , 2851 .
word clouds made from a song ( "Lovefool" by the Cardigans ) via Wordle .
layer styles applied on the words on several layers .
Wordle is a program , ( Java applet ) that generates “word clouds” from any text that you provide.
The clouds give greater prominence to those words that appear more frequently in the source text.
This seems like a useful tool for providing a quick overview of the main concepts addressed in a text.
What you see in the background is a "casone", that is to say a "fishing station", but the word doesn´t mean "big house", like I thought. Quite the reverse, "casone" is a pejorative term in the local dialect, indicative of the extremely poor conditions suffered by the fishers of the area until a few decades ago. This is where many men - and little boys too - used to live and work, away from their families, for weeks during the fishing season, no matter the weather - thick fog or high winds, icy rain or sultry air - no matter the huge amount of mosquitoes and other bugs, fishing lucifugous fish - mostly eels - in the middle of the night for - ça va sans dire - a ridiculous pay. No wonder this wetland - now part of the beautiful Regional Park of the Po Delta, classified as a Site of Community Importance and a Special Protection area - is where a big portion of emigrant workers who moved to America came from, especially by the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th.
What looked sweet and peaceful to me must have been quite a hell of a place for way too many!

Hubble image reworked with GIMP to be compatible with desktop background. Color tint shifted to be more compatible with windows XP theme. Star in lower right of image was just the wrong size & brightness, so replaced it with a supernova effect.

One of the smaller canvases. The 'crown' was a collage element that I pulled off because it wasn't right....I ended up filling it with gold powder.

I had trouble finding a simple retro NES background so I made one with some screen grabs from the game
These are pics of things that I've taken over the last couple of years. Not much to look at here, but a couple of Photoshop filters and you got great PPT slide backgrounds or whatever...add some salt or pepper and you have breakfast!
