These are pics of things that I've taken over the last couple of years. Not much to look at here, but a couple of Photoshop filters and you got great PPT slide backgrounds or whatever...add some salt or pepper and you have breakfast!

I'm slowly catching up on my Single Girl, and it's time to cut some background pieces! These are the three options, from left to right:
-Nubby 100% linen in brown
-Carolina Chambray in black
-Kona Cotton in stone
To me, the linen and chambray get extra points for being soft. Linen gets docked points for being harder to work with, especially with curves. What would you pick?

I did a series of macro pictures of colored sugar (sprinkles). This was the last, when I piled it all up. Cropped to 16x9 for use as a desktop background.
Rule of composition
-The background does not distract the viewer from the main subject (the window). Instead, the turquoise colored wall adds visual interest to the picture.
How it's a good photo
-The photo contains more than one rule of compositions and this makes it a good photo. The background is controlled so that the subject is the only thing that is being observed. The photo also follows the rule of thirds because the subject is placed on an intersection line, which is a natural point of interest for the viewer. Also, the color theme is aesthetically interesting.
How can I improve the photo
-The quality of the picture can be improved by keeping the lens of the camera clean. There should also be more focus on the subject of the photo. We can achieve focus by getting closer to the subject and keeping the camera steady.

On camera left was a Canon 580EX firing into an umbrella. On camera right was a snooted Canon 580EX firing directly at 申琦's face. They were both triggered with a shoe-mounted Canon ST-E2 wireless transmitter from my Canon 5D
