when you see close shots like these, you can see how primitive earlier aviation was..and these guys were fighting a war like this..

I have to say that the weirdest thing about being back is the shadow the Old Man left. Seems like he knew EVERYONE, and everyone he met LOVED HIM. It's freakish... I feel like by wearing my own face I'm an outcast.
I wish I could just tell people to imagine this scenario: "You wake up one day and you're body is 50 years old. Turns out that you've already 'had your chance' - and you ended up being a great hero. Pretty cool huh? Oh, don't worry, 50 year old you is about to show up again and you'll vanish forever. Because you've already had your shot - and looks like you won the big door prize. Bye!'
Pretty damn unfair. I did what I did to survive, and honestly, I hurt no one doing it. Not my fault if that door is closed, and the old version of me - as respected and loved as he was - is gone. All that's left are memories, and the fuzzy feeling people get when they think of him.
I'm not him, though. I think it disappoints people. Portia was disappointed, and hell, even Niobe seemed to be. The only person to see some potential in me was that Alric guy.
The real crazy part about it all? I honestly FEEL like an alien. Like something inside is missing... and they have a right to be disappointed, because when they look at me with those eyes they saw HIM with, they see right into me - into the hole that's missing from my being. I can't help but look back, and feel... nothing.
I feel nothing. It's strange. I'm a passenger in this, somehow.
My back to basics title refers to hating the New Flickr page....which has meant going back to basics and having to figure all the new functions. Having to find and re install new scripts and such for self and groups I admin.
Ok who else hates it ? :)

Howlin’ Wolf – Back Door Man
Like many places in this old city, the intersection of Berkeley and Stanhope Streets in the Back Bay has history hidden in plain sight. Though the Liberty Mutual Tower from 2013 at 157 Berkeley Street dominates the view, its neighbors are arguably much more interesting. At 154 Berkeley Street is the AKA Hotel, which opened in 1925 and served as the Boston Police Headquarters until their move in 1997. At 209 Columbus Avenue is the former Youth's Companion Magazine Building, designed by Hartwell and Richardson, which opened in 1892 and where the United States Pledge of Allegiance was born. Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

or the title means something else, its art and subjective and alive!
It is not often that I will post the same subject into my photo stream unless it is of something special.
What has become an annual event that just keeps on keeping on, is the Auto fest Spring car Nats held in Shepparton. Here is a link to the event organisers page, autofest.com.au/.
The event has been going for over 30 years, and for many there is no better way to spend the weekend than with like-minded people, as the entrants burn rubber with an excess of horsepower, that is thankfully quite obscene : )
There was and is everything from the go to woe, handling events, drifting, and of cause burn outs! Burnouts bouncing of the rev limiting, literally hitting the redline burnouts. How much rubber do they burn, enough so I can smell it from my house nearly a mile away : ) PS the smoke signals might be cultural appropriation, so some one should bring along a Pontiac and make it officially ok : P
Jack Danniels www.jackdaniels.com/en-au has a bar, so Tennessee is represented, although in the main part, not much American iron turns up at the event in comparison to the Australian contingent and Japanese cars.
V8s are the flavour, although you might be surprised like I was this year to see a Honda S2000 turn up, a pleasant inclusion, with one of the all-time great 4 bangers in it.
Black snot is a thing, that is if you can handle the close quarters action! You might like to take some year plugs, even then for about mile you will still be able to hear the cars at it.
As a car enthusiast I enjoy the day, friendly people getting their thing on, and having a great time.
PS. Make sure you drink lots of water, and keep hydrated!

I have a thing for Ferris Wheels. Fortunately, they are around only for two weeks every year during State Fair. Otherwise I don't know if I would be able to stay away from posting a Ferris Wheel picture every other day. Right now I have only a couple more sitting on my hard drive, so there is no such danger. Also I realize this image has the same problem as the one I uploaded yesterday - it could easily be in both Cliche group and Sliders. But because it is so shamelessly "slid", I think Sliders Sunday should be its home. HSS everyone!
This dress, as I mentioned earlier, is no more. It was a total write off shortly after taking it off here. Big rips due to its very delicate material. Funnily enough, I just lost another dress this week. The back zip was totally stuck (I think it was damaged as it was too small for me that night). An oddly arousing feeling being stuck in a dress. I'm glad it wasn't a favourite or that I wasn't in a changing room at the time. This is the one (www.flickr.com/photos/61636721@N06/49579211516/in/datepos...) I managed to squeeze out of the dress, but the zip is totally stuck! I'm usually good with zips, but that dress with the bad zip and and this dress here seems to be very beyond any help. More room in the wardrobe then!
That little inward curve of the back, lower back to bum, is the sexiest part of a woman to me. It helps the legs, the bum, even the curve of the breasts. I love how women's clothing is always flowing with the body, unlike men's which always seem to me to be too baggy all the time.
Nothing spectacular, but I liked the mood of this shot. The Houses are along Palmerstone Road, Northampton, and on the left is a former shoe factory on the corner with Stockley Street.
