Back when SD80MACs could still be found in their Conrail blue paint, albeit with an NS patch, the Cresson engine terminal was a good place to find them. It seems to attract oddballs, as PRR kept a lot of Fairbanks-Morse units here back in the '60s, not that I was there to see it.
Anyhow, late in the afternoon during the longer days of the year, the sun swings over to the north side of the tracks, allowing photos from the "back" side of the terminal. I've always preferred those late afternoon angles at Cresson.

Yellow Ikarus on its way back to Encs depot after the faulty Credo had been fixed up, and took its place for the afternoon runs.
In recent days, the mentioned depot has been emptied and closed, with the scrapped vehicles moved to Tiszaújváros and the working ones to Miskolc.
I like the lighting on platform 8 of Amsterdam Central Station. It comes directly from above which gives this strange atmospheric look. I'd rather had someone else on the picture because he sat on a spot that was illuminated better. But he moved away.
The Schooner America 2.0 with Full Sails! She is one of the most majestic tall sail-ships in the Key West sunset-sail fleet. Her huge sails catch the wind and the light as she roams the harbor, giving passengers a day/evening of excitement and open-water beauty.

History: Designed and built by Scarano Boat Inc. in Albany, N.Y., the America 2.0 had big shoes to fill. Its 1995 predecessor, the 139-foot America (now berthed in Santa Barbara) won the hearts and minds of many islanders on and off the docks. That ship replicated the original America, a 101-foot sailing vessel that won an 1851 race against 15 yachts of the Royal Yacht Squadron in what would become known forever as the "America's Cup" in honor of that ship. The 1851 original America ended up a blockade-runner for the Confederacy and after the Yankees seized her, became a blockade-buster for the federals. She remained government property until falling victim to a shed collapse in 1945, and with the shed was scrapped and burned. A 170-year history with two replicas built.
America 2.0 (105 feet) replaced the 1995 replica schooner America (139 feet). The '95 replica is now berthed in Santa Barbara, Calif.
The America 2.0, the Adirondack III, the Western Union, the Appledore and many other tall ships are credited with helping
to keep Key West's maritime traditions alive for years to come.

blazer pattern downloaded with undercollar :) pattern pieces cut out, assembled and sellotaped, transferred onto pattern paper and then onto the ironed calico for the toile, test garment, and finally calico edges zigzag stitched ready to be assembled. masking tape on the calico shows it is the reverse side of the fabric, only removed when the blazer is finished
much happier now i have the undercollar :) the other jacket was not the blazer, hence no undercollar flic.kr/p/2qDqSu7 i have the updated edition of the dressmaking book and the instructions i have only relate to the blazer. for now the previous downloaded jacket will be put to one side. it's all a learning curve :)
i'm following the classic blazer pattern downloaded from this reference book flic.kr/p/2q55djV

It's back to school time, but Rose isn't going back to regular school. She's returning to Dogwart's. I have a feeling that she'll be getting good grades in potions. I will not be getting good grades in editing, but sometimes you just have to say enough is enough. We'll see what happens next week!
You can read more about Rose at TalesAndTails.com.
Taylor mask is so pretty, although this cheap blonde wig was a nightmare to keep under control! Very basic figure enhancement utilised in these photos, but the arching of my back and a "hip pop" gives me quite a tasty looking derrière.
On the way back to Singapore, another brilliant sunset. I'm sure the other passengers were annoyed when I kept lifting the shade to see what the sun was doing. But it was worth it.
I am back home again and normal service will resume shortly, Once i sort the camera situation out or i get dressed up rather than dressed down as i am at the moment
I'm always looking for something a bit different to photograph, no matter how much it may bore the simply-landscape crowd on here. Mooching around the back of Inverness by the Caledonian Canal I thought I spotted something I last saw in a newspaper about 10 years ago just by the old tollhouse, which was surrounded by a mess of old nauticalia: an old puffer fishing boat, a yacht, a yellow submarine, RNLI lifeboat, creels, buoys, canoes, junk, all overgrown with spikey brambles, bushes and trees.
The story goes that back in 2011 Stan Fraser. a father of five said: 'It all started when I decided on a nautical theme for the house.' My mother told me loads of seafaring stories, and I think that developed my love of the sea. I put a porthole in the window at the back door because we are beside the canal and then built a model of a pirate ship on my cousin's old rowing boat for the children.
He added: 'I think the Titanic is the most beautiful ship ever made and much prettier than any liner today. I started to build a dummy Titanic for fun but it needed to be bigger. I had two caravans in the garden and I used these as the base. Someone gave me an old shed to use and a friend who was building a house gave me some wood and nails to recycle and that got me started. Mr Fraser, a former lighting engineer, fought through his debilitating ME, which has left him unable to find work, to slowly build his 1:10 scale model of the Titanic.
The 46-year-old (in 2011) began collecting other maritime items and his house is filled with life jackets, models of other ships and copies of newspapers reporting on the Titanic's loss after striking an iceberg.
He also wants to develop a new visitor attraction based on a series of giant model ships including an aircraft carrier, a yacht, a galleon, a trawler and a submarine. Among these would be a model of Noah's Ark filled with stuffed animals for children to play.
Unfortunately it seems to all have run out of steam........or has it? www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1372043/Titanic-raised-t...

A 2 week vacation is unfortunately over. Now that dreadful culling ... and scanning 9 rolls :-) This photo here just as a reminder sometimes things are as kitsch as they can be! Rainbow, „Alphorn“ Mountain huts and summits. To good to be true, but it was!
