The back tracks of Hanoi, Vietnam. Reflections of reflections in the wake of new directions; remembering the beginning of a journey, and how if you were to never have set out than you would disappear from that scene before your eyes as if you were never there. But that scene before you, has become your reason for having made it so far, and your reason to keep going; the beauty of an afternoon and how it can become everything you stand for.

Karlovac, my town in my <3

PM 1225 is under steam for some tests ahead of the up coming busy NPE season just over a month away. A couple of us decided to come back after dark and try some night angles of the mighty berk. With the berk being positioned on the table it game the the chance to throw the flashes behind it to try some back lit silhouette still flashing.

This appears to be a Ladder-backed Woodpecker.

When traveling through the scattered cactus and mesquite of the arid southwestern U.S., it’s difficult to believe that these almost treeless habitats are home to woodpeckers. But the Ladder-backed (once known as the “Cactus Woodpecker”) is an attractive dweller of deserts, desert scrub, and thorn forests. It can also be found in pinyon pine and pinyon-juniper forest. Like many small dwellers of arid habitats, Ladder-backed Woodpeckers can be inconspicuous and quiet, requiring a bit of time and patience to find. Their small size and agility make them deft foragers among the thorns and spines of plants like cholla, mesquite, and prickly pear.

So, what's he doing in my back yard? Sorry I couldn't get a better image, but it was a spur-of-the-moment thing! At least Woody doesn't mind the colorful grasshopper!

I bought a new light bulb and got thinking what i could do with it apart from the obvious ! A quick look through the interweb and well here it is my new bulb.

Prunus triloba (double-flowering plum) is one of the first shrubs to bloom in Calgary which is a welcome feature after a long winter! It is oh-so-pretty in spring.

It is very difficult to get a shot of the Cloud Gate without people but somehow I managed to get one at night (hand held - didn't had my tripod with me). Here are some info on the Cloud Gate - which also calls silver bean : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_gate

Will catch up with everybody soon! View in lightbox if you have a moment.

18th February 1981

I traveled around the irrigation ditch, into the field for a more encompassing view of the curious shed against the grand sky. More skies! Here is another recent McIntosh heavy skies shot over toward Highway #66 in the distance to Hygiene, Colorado with Mount Meeker obscured in the distance. Meeker was a Longmont preacher who, with his family, was justifiably sliced and diced by the Western Colorado Ute Indians. This is at the McIntosh agricultural museum, north of the lake, and the curious octagonal storage building in the southwestern corner. This is where the bee hives are located and they fly about looking for anything in flower, sticker weeds, probably. I always figure that I can get back to my truck before the skies let loose.

This was another dandy sky day and I originally thought that I better get more exercise in and head on down to the McIntosh Lake loop trail but this sky looked pretty good over the mountains. There is always something at McIntosh. I am fighting back against time poorly spend behind this keyboard and monitor.

This is the McIntosh-Lohr Farm Agricultural Museum on Highway #66, (not the same as Route #66) It goes up to Estes Park and mostly ends @ east Flatteville and Hwy. #66. I dropped my intended walk when I saw this clouding that really popped the windmill.

This morning I went back to Nicomen Slough to check on the Bald Eagles again. I decided since it was to be sunny I would shoot using some manual settings. It has been quite sometime since I had been shooting in Manual mode; most of the time I shoot in Aperature. I have forgotten so much! I need to learn how to do this again and how to process those types of shots.

The American Bald Eagle population this morning was very thin. Only one was feeding and maybe three others were either in the trees or on the sandbars. I saw very few on my drive up to the Harrison River.

Shot a fair while ago, I was hanging off the top of Rocky Point at Torquay trying to avoid the giant "speed hump" of land that obstructs the shot unless you go for a pretty severe crop like I did with this image. The sunrise was about as good as I can ever remember and sat perfectly for nearly ten minutes, beautiful rich red colors in the clouds and deep blues away from the sun. The color cast was a bit of a bugger but a snappy adjustment layer calmed it down a bit.

First time out after lockdown

Back of the fab pouch I received from Toni! Absolutely gorgeous, I am so lucky!

Coming back to Second Life after years has not been an easy task. But what's easy? To feel like there's an endless amount of possibilities and unwavering love that's waiting to be found.

Wearing a combination of different Luxe Paris outfits <3

Every year my little Flame Skimmer dragonfly friends come back to the stick I keep out for them. I'm not sure if this is my old pal, Herbie, or one of his descendants but he's out there all day, everyday on that little stick. Dragonflies make great models. They have winning smiles and, even if they dart away, they keep coming back to their same spot.

"Nuthatch Look Back" by Patti Deters. A reminder of the simple beauty found in the natural world, this White-breasted Nuthatch (Sitta carolinensis) pauses to perch on a bare winter branch, and is captured in a fleeting moment of repose. The small songbird is alert and is looking directly at the camera. The bird's distinctive markings are clearly visible: a stark white face and breast contrasting with a slate-blue back and a rusty-colored patch on its lower flanks. Its dark cap and prominent eye-stripe add to the charming appearance of the common backyard bird. Especially interesting is the apparent size of the claws that are gripping the branch in comparison to the tiny feather body. One can almost feel the crispness of the air and the stillness of the winter landscape. Thank you for viewing this image. Back again with a real camera. Just couldn't be bothered to take any proper photos this past week it just seemed to drag on and that effected my motivation.

This was last nights outfit, something of an odd mix I should have worn a bra and lost the belt thing. other than that its an OK look.

AC/DC - Back In Black

www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAgnJDJN4VA

Back in black, I hit the sack

I've been too long, I'm glad to be back

Yes, I'm let loose from the noose

That's kept me hanging about

I'm just looking at the sky 'cause it's getting me high

Forget the hearse, 'cause I'll never die

I got nine lives, cat's eyes

Abusing every one of them and running wild

'Cause I'm back, yes I'm back

Well, I'm back, yes I'm back

Well, I'm back, back

Well, I'm back in black

Yes, I'm back in black, oh

Back in the back of a Cadillac

Number one with a bullet, I'm a power pack

Yes, I'm in a bang with a gang

They've got to catch me if they want me to hang

'Cause I'm back on the track and I'm beatin' the flack

Nobody's gonna get me on another rap

So look at me now, I'm just making my play

Don't try to push your luck, just get out of my way

'Cause I'm back, yes I'm back

Well, I'm back, yes I'm back

Well, I'm back, back

Well, I'm back in black

Yes, I'm back in black

Well, I'm back, yes I'm back

Well, I'm back, yes I'm back

Well, I'm back, back

Well, I'm back in black

Yes, I'm back in black, aw!

Ah, yeah

Oh, yeah

Take my love

Yeah-yeah

Yeah

Oh, hey yeah

Ooh, yeah

Well, I'm back (I'm back)

Back, well I'm (I'm back)

Back (I'm back)

Back (I'm back)

Back (I'm back)

Back, back in black

Yes, I'm back in black

I've hit the sack

back to where i left off this morning.

Finally managed to get the car recovered to my work.

So this is the outfit from Sunday without the hat I had planned to not wear one for a while had the weather been better. I am thankful i decided on the cardigan as that cam in handy while talking to a bunch of lost German mountain troops camped up track a little. I say lost because this part of the world has no mountains doesn't really even have hills. anyway while talking about how the poncho tent was put together the heavens opened, not good,

Had a funny photo taken here , i was chatting to the officer who showing his rifle to some of us, after the kids had handled it I was next up. shouldering the weapon and leaning into it I to aim at some imaginary targets. it was just then i noticed a guy with a nice camera taking a photo of me doing so.

What on earth that looked I can only imagine.
