okay so many of you may have noticed that i havent posted a single thing for a while. well the story is that my pc basically died. since then i've become a proud owner of a macbook pro. i'm happy the change is finally here and that i'll have a system that will work for what i need to do.
thankfully, my most recent shots have been backed up from the repair shop so they'll be saved.
unfortunately i wont have the cs4 design suite for a few weeks or so. that means still minimal to no posts on here :/ sorry to anyone who looks forward to my stream.
anyway, i'll be back in action in a few weeks and post some new shots for everyone to see!

These ants seemed to be herding aphids. 24mm prime reversed and mounted on an extension tube. Flash mounted on a bracket. Was able to sit on a park bench to take these, was nice after a few hours of crouching and kneeling to get other shots.
here's the patio, a real change from last year, huh? mom gave us the furniture, if you'll recall. I painted it from the dull brown color to the green (what else?!) and we found the awesome umbrella on sale for under $30!! behind there you can see a few shrubs. two of them we got from a job dad had....they had to be moved to do the digging & the people didn't wanna keep them so YAY US!...the others are the gianormous butterfly bush out of the front and the rose of sharon from the end of the house. I'm going to set the dahlia out there soon, too. the next plan is to REALLY landscape there w/rocks and a border...we'll see how long that take. Ha! ;)
Looking at the house from the path to the lower meadow. The kids hung the hammock there because every tree has poison ivy on it... I kid you not!

And what did I do? Say hello? Compliment them on their work? Nope. I stumbled backwards and took a photo of the back of their heads. Nice work.

The walk down from Donard and across the Bog of Donard is not the most enjoyable part of the walk.
The wall leads up Slieve Donard. To the left of Donard is Slieve Commedagh.

Back when I first printed this black and white image in the eighties, I played around with q-tips and colored water markers to add faint colors to certain parts of this image. Recently I decided to try to replicate that technique by using layers and masks in Photoshop. This came out to be pretty close to the original hand colored print in the eighties. Not exactly high art, but I was pleased. Original image scanned from Panatomic X film.
You'll note that this is the info for Lagoona and her pet Neptuna, the UPC code was cut off and her name is shown as Ghoulia Yelp

(My 30th birthday was the 23rd so we spent it and Christmas in Hawaii. Left just in time for a ton of snow at home.)
