Critically acclaimed poet and 2009 UK Slam poetry champion Hollie last night brought her tour to Glasgow. Not afraid to speak her mind, her hard-hitting poetry shocks and inspires in equal measure and has taken her to Glastonbury, WOW festival, Tate Modern and Channel 4 Random Acts. Supported by Michael Pedersen, a poet, playwright and animateur whose poetry is a rich and fantastical feast of flavours, landscape and language; from NHS overdose clinics to overrun gardens and talking Cambodian treehouses to the teenage perversion of a young Scot on a French Exchange.

by Annie Baker

Directed by Eleanor Holdridge

Featuring Michael Kramer, Susan Lynskey, Adi Stein and MaryBeth Wise

A touching comedy from the Obie Award-winning author of Circle Mirror Transformation. It’s Body Awareness Week at Shirley College, and the non-traditional Vermont family members Phyllis, Joyce and their possibly autistic son Jared are rocked by a visiting photographer and his ‘male gaze.’ As sexuality, identity, role modeling and political-correctness get stirred up, the results are both touching and hilarious.

In April ESL students and the ISO (international student organization) hosted fourth graders from the nearby Paul School for a morning of cultural awareness with a focus on China. Brewster students shared information about their native countries while the elementary school students rotated through stations where they received instruction on writing Chinese characters, learning colors and numbers, practiced using chopsticks, tried their hand at the cat’s cradle with a Chinese jump rope, and even learned card tricks.
