PDF Research Advocates Joel Davis and Sarah Shed of Hallowell, ME, (far left and far right respectively) are boating America’s great loop, a 5000-7000 circumnavigation of the eastern US by water. Inspired by their PDF advocacy training, they are using the adventure as a way to increase awareness of and support for PD research. Armed with posters and educational materials, they are meeting up with other individuals along the route to share their message. Last October 23, 2015 the preschool to grade 3 pupils of St. Francis Cainta celebrated Scouting Month with half a days’ worth of games and activities. The first part of the event is the presentation of their patrol yell where they express the virtues of becoming a good scout through coordinated marches, cheers, and dance moves - a routine they practiced for many days. The next part of the event is the Scout Olympics which is a series of fun games to test and develop the important characteristics of scouting such as teamwork, patience, awareness, and a strong character.
Parents were encouraged to let their children go by themselves with only their patrol mates and scout masters to encourage independence - an important characteristic needed to become successful in life.
All in all it was a lively event with the little scouts enjoying themselves while having fun learning the fundamental skills and values of scouting
